Feedback for Shao Kahn~

[-]When he does his slam throw his sprites get extremely low quality and blurry. Why is this? =S (this also happens during his fatality due to the usage of those same sprites)
[-] I noticed a bug where he'd float off the screen when hit while using warusaki3's cvs King. I've not been able to replicate this bug, however. So maybe it was a mugen thing?
  • Absolutely stunning presentation, intro, stage, everything really. It truly feels like an actual boss fight from a game! Amazing.


Very awesome overall, but I hope the sprite issue gets fixed soon as it's quite bothersome.

Edit:
His hammer slam fatality seems to share the sprite problem but to a less obvious degree

Have tested both of them. ~

I have to say these are probably two of the most fun, challenging and memorable boss characters I've ever seen. They truly blew me away with how much attention got spent on little details like the intros which actually made me feel like I was playing a REAL game and not mugen. It was awesome!
No words can really do these characters justice, I just hope you get the praise you so richly deserve for them across the boards.

My only feedback is for Shao Kahn, and that would be two things,

1- Hopefully fix the sprite thing if possible. (I'm guessing it has something to do with the resolution of his sprites for those animations since I don't remember them being in later games. Maybe I'm forgetful)
2- His AI could use a bit of tweaking so he uses his flame spear and hammer moves more often. He doesn't really seem to bother with them at all right now for some reason. In the game he used the hammer as an anti block, mid range surprise and the spear as an anti air/jump type thing. Though you probably knew that already. (Although in later games he was mega spammy with his tackles, which I think the ai is based on, no?)

I really, really hope you keep making characters. It's so refreshing to get to play your stuff. I remember downloading Phalanx and Solumo from the original site they were hosted at and wishing more things of that quality could get made. :)

If you don't make Motaro (which personally is the only other MK boss I really loved) I hope you make Kraid or Ridley since Crocomire was a blast to play as well!

Bug on Shao Kahn's boss version.

I get a message showing an error in his .cmd, saying:

Library Error Message: Died partsin const(velocity.jump.x)

Well... In first place, te sprites with less quality, the reason is this:


I take the sprites from "Mortal Kombat Trilogy" and... well... obviously  --;
I will try to give you the best possible texture of these sprites or maybe i will do the parts from other sprites but I think what lose some good angles of Kahn's helmet, as there is no other sprites to show that angle of his head, however, what try.  :2thumbsup:

In second place, the bugs...
In my particular case I have not found these bugs  :help: (including found it by Julius), I dare to ask a favor, help me to trace the cause and I will do the patch as soon as possible. It is difficult to detect if the problems in my case are not presented. but do not worry, I will try to decipher any way, i will check the code from zero, ¿ok?  ;)

and finally... Motaro & goro, as I said... I'm working on them at this moment, actually, the next is Motaro...  And I want to ask: What will be the most appropriate voices for Motaro & Goro?. I think  for motaro include the voice from "MK Aramaggedon" and for Goro the voice of "MK4" or perhaps the original? What Do you think?  :impressed:

I'll try to see if higher quality trilogy sprite rips got released somewhere. (Assuming that isn't the game quality of the sprites. Trilogy sucked so I barely played and don't know, Hm=S ) I'd hope so. Although, I don't think that game was very popular so maybe not. :(

Yay on Motaro! I can't wait ^^ Hopefully he gets released soon. Do you plan of giving him a special intro like Kintaro and Shao Kahn have?

Personally I'd suggest using Motaro's original MK3 voice. I hated his MKA audio. (although neither were fantastic.) Goro wasn't much different, I don't think? So not sure which would be more usable there.

I can't wait for your next releases, it's been such a delight playing these characters !

Normally I wouldn't let Mortal Kombat characters anywhere near my roster, but Kintaro and Kahn have forced their way in! As far as Motaro goes, I actually prefer his Armageddon voice, but his MK3 voice would make more sense to use. Good luck with all your future projects!
What should I do? Do I go back? Or do I stay?

Really nice work.

Only thing I've noticed that hasn't already been mentioned is that during Simultaneous Play with Kintaro, then Shao Kahn, we don't get an introduction for Shao Kahn.
So you defeat Kintaro, its body is lying on the ground; but Shao Kahn doesn't stand up, challenge, and jump down in round 2 of Simul play?

I found and fixed my problem, it was actually just a problem with directories in the .def.

Though, I find that MUGEN keeps crashing in the second round of the fight, when I win.

Isn't that the problem that you need to adjust your maxhelpers to resolve?

tested it. Needs updating for more spear throws. If you use FemaleNinja Juano made. She can defeat him easy. I think he might need more defense as well but hes a great boss  ;D

maybe if he is a BOSS then is better if you add more defense and a little more atack
and a damage shield like hulk, for not stop the moves in any little punch

I think with these changes in the char could do so hard to defeat like the original game
then the chars with much dodge and Movility will have problems
