Sprite Size Question

Wanted to take a shot a creating a charater with my own sprites but couldnt find the size of the sprites

i did pull some into photoshop but didnt know if thats the real size was going to try something Guilty Gear ish anyway any help on size of the characters template
should i make a 8 by 10 size at 200
any info to get me started would help i would most likely scan my drawings the go over them
i basicaly just dont know the window sizes
id like to make a logo screen life bars and characters sprites before i attempt to read all the info on making and programming a character

The average hieght of a mugen sprite is about 80 pixels.

Mugen's resolution/screensize defaults to 320x240. Basically the tallest i would make any sprite would be 300, you can use doubleres = 4 to scale it down to 0.5 and it'll still look good but that does give you a 150 hieght sprite which wouldn't be too big for the screen but is nevertheless a big character.
