Hello, I'm really new to this and I'm not sure if this is a good place to be asking this but whatever. Anyway, I'm wondering what size sprites for a fighting game should be? I'd be really grateful if any of you could answer. :)

Depends on what you're aiming for...

Most stuff from mugen are the regular 240p sprites that we've come to know and love.

If you're going for for a more modern look then hi-res (480p) would be recommended.

Then there's HD which hasn't been done often. You could either re-draw low-res sprites (SSF2T:HDR) or do them from scratch (BlazBlue) although ASW traced them on top of 3D models for accuracy. From the looks of it (I'm just learning this), BlazBlue is "720p HD" while HDR is "1080p HD."

With an increase of resolution means more pixels (which means more details) so keep that in mind.
