Stage Error Message

I have tried for a while getting this stage to work with my mugen.- http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/the-george-wu-gym-143220.0.html
I keep getting this error-"Error Message: Cant read player info: stages/georgewu.def". I am playing on winmugen and the stage is made for winmugen. I cant seem to find a fix. Anyone know why its not working?

Yes Both stage names for the def and sff files are the same.

here's a solution if you checked its def file, it would say that it's only compatible to mugen 1.0, you should get mugen 1.0 and try this stage

Yeah so i downloaded a fresh mugen 1.0 and tried the stage with it. Low and behold it worked lol. Is there an easy way to make it compatible wit winmugen or no?

i'm afraid not, sorry, you might as well get used to mugen 1.0, then if necessary, try mugen 1.1 soon

more compatible stages, characters and sound is better in winmugen. If i want to use all my characters with mugen 1.0 I would have to convert everything and that itself is a hassle.

the only thing winmugen is better at is sound. 1.0 and 1.1 are far better in every single way, you should update, trust me, its worth it. not to mention both ran all the winmugen stuff that I tried with little to no issues.

Yeah I agree. Winmugen is inferior to 1.0 and 1.1. Especially 1.1. Upgrade for sure. It seems like u just don't want to take the time to upgrade. I can understand that though. Take care.

I thought 1.0 wasnt compatible with winmugen stages and characters ??

Thank you. Yeah I will upgrade one day but for now I'm satisfied with Winmugen
