i NEED HELP PLEASE

I want to implement the float storm has in mvc2, like when you hold up see floats down.

Will  I how do I go about this I'm stuck. I tried looking at other storms and going into the cns and trying to figure and experiment but I got nothing,

This what the code looks like. from one of the storms i found

;-[ Floating ]-
[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = Pos Y < 0
trigger1 = Vel Y >= 2
trigger1 = command = "holdup"
var(1) = 1

[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = command != "holdup"
trigger2 = StateType != A
var(1) = 0

[State -2]
type = VelSet
trigger1 = var(11)
trigger1 = MoveType != H
trigger1 = Vel Y >= 2
y = 2

[State -2]
type = CtrlSet
trigger1 = PrevStateNo = [600,699]
trigger1 = var(1)
trigger1 = !var(1)
value = 0
persistent = 0

[State 50, VelAdd]
type = VelAdd
triggerall = Vel X < 5
triggerall = var(1)
triggerall = command = "holdfwd"
triggerall = command != "holdback"
trigger1 = StateNo = 50
trigger2 = StateNo = [600,699]
x = .25

[State 50, VelAdd]
type = VelAdd
triggerall = Vel X > -5
triggerall = var(1)
triggerall = command != "holdfwd"
triggerall = command = "holdback"
trigger1 = StateNo = 50
trigger2 = StateNo = [600,699]
x = -.25

So where do i start. do I start.

because here is the kicker

state-2 is not a animation
[600,699] / 600 is the j.lp animation and 699 isn't a animation.

I also tried plug in the code itself to see if my character float but i got nothing,

Please help me. Even if there is another way to implements storm's float from mvc2, I will apprciate it. thanks'

Those last 3 have nothing to do with it. What you want to achieve is a small velocity increase. In that code, that's what var(1) is doing. But it's not doing it there, most likely it's in the jump states, but it could also be in -3

;-[ Floating ]-
[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = Pos Y < 0
trigger1 = Vel Y >= 2
trigger1 = command = "holdup"
var(1) = 1

if u want it to float then the vel in Y should be negative (<=2)..so he goes up if u press the command

Thanks for replay guys, heres what I got,

;-[ Floating ]-
[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = Pos Y < 0
trigger1 = Vel Y >= -2
trigger1 = command = "holdup"
var(1) = 1

[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = command != "holdup"
trigger2 = StateType != A
var(1) = 0

[State -2]
type = VelSet
trigger1 = var(11)
trigger1 = MoveType != H
trigger1 = Vel Y >= -2
y = 2

I plugged this into the cns. Right below jumpup.

Maybe State -2 is wrong? what does stands for?

I still got nothing. But heres my question. Ok after I plug that go into cns, is there something I have to plug in the cmd also? Does it matter where I plug it in cns? Whats going on here :-\

Ok I'll say it like this in steps. start fresh

step 1 :
go to cns. Plug in.
;-[ Floating ]-
[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = Pos Y < 0
trigger1 = Vel Y >= -2
trigger1 = command = "holdup"
var(1) = 1

[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = command != "holdup"
trigger2 = StateType != A
var(1) = 0

[State -2]
type = VelSet
trigger1 = var(11)
trigger1 = MoveType != H
trigger1 = Vel Y >= -2
y = 2

step2: go into cmd and do something or add some kinds code?  Im guessing Holdup is already in cmd this is what i see cmd already.
[Command]
name = "holdup"
command = /$U
time = 1
So i guess hold up trigger jump states automatic?

step 3: ????????

Is there a simply way to add thiis float feature, I'm I going at this at a advance way, because ..............

jailuis

yes it goes under State -2, cuz that means it is always active, but BTW, what I said before is that u hav to change vel>=2...but vel>=-2 its almost the same.... use vel<=-2..

and there is something I dont see in the code...the var(11) you use on vel set....maybe thats the prob...look for it

Cyanide

LOOK at the code.

These 2 set a variable when you hold up. They do NOT set a y velocity. That's obviously set somewhere else, as i said.
;-[ Floating ]-
[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = Pos Y < 0
trigger1 = Vel Y >= 2
trigger1 = command = "holdup"
var(1) = 1

[State -2]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = command != "holdup"
trigger2 = StateType != A
var(1) = 0

This has nothing to do with the last 2 as it uses var(11)
[State -2]
type = VelSet
trigger1 = var(11)
trigger1 = MoveType != H
trigger1 = Vel Y >= 2
y = 2

The first one will never trigger. var(1) can't be 0 and nonzero at the same time. The other 2 you may note do X velocity and won't cause any float effect.
[State -2]
type = CtrlSet
trigger1 = PrevStateNo = [600,699]
trigger1 = var(1)
trigger1 = !var(1)
value = 0
persistent = 0

[State 50, VelAdd]
type = VelAdd
triggerall = Vel X < 5
triggerall = var(1)
triggerall = command = "holdfwd"
triggerall = command != "holdback"
trigger1 = StateNo = 50
trigger2 = StateNo = [600,699]
x = .25

[State 50, VelAdd]
type = VelAdd
triggerall = Vel X > -5
triggerall = var(1)
triggerall = command != "holdfwd"
triggerall = command = "holdback"
trigger1 = StateNo = 50
trigger2 = StateNo = [600,699]
x = -.25

Having now explained all that. Go FIND where the Y vel is actually set~!

I think sharing the char would be helpful  --;
