Originally, I was working on an ST accurate full game, but then again, someone could just as easily download an emulator and an ST rom and get the real thing. So, I thought I'd do something different...

Super Street Fighter 2 Neo is going to use SNK style sprites and combine elements of ST, Fatal Fury, and early KOF games. And the roster is going beyond the World Warriors and New Challengers.






List of intended features for this game:

Level 1 Super Combos (ST)
Desperation Moves activated at low health (FF/KOF)
Damage dampeners activated at the same time as the DMs (ST)
Dodge (KOF)
Power Charge (KOF)

I may add more, but this is what I have for now.

Since I just started this project, I obviously don't have screens, but the lifebars and select screen will be redone with a Neo Geo look.

EDIT: Decided to swap Billy for Kim, for balance and character importance issues. Right now I'm trying to get someone to help design a new screenpack for this game, so if anyone's interested, either post the request on this topic or PM me.

EDIT 2: I now have some kickass lifebars, thanks to the gracious efforts of zion.

And here I was all this time thinking you'd have felt offended if people pointed that out.
You can help with Ikemen GO's development by trying out the latest development build and reporting any bugs on GitHub.

Bump for update - I NEED CREATORS AND SPRITERS. I plan on a big roster (for those that haven't counted it, that's 34 characters, several of which need spriting). Anyone that can and is willing to help out can sign up here.

Ryo is already in (as a secret character), and the reason there are no Mark of the Wolves characters is because they are more "modern" - here is a little something I'm using to explain all this:

I usually equate Fatal Fury to Street Fighter 2, with Art of Fighting being SNK's Final Fight. Hence, this puts GotW (graphically and timeline-wise) as being Fatal Fury's SF3. Basically:

Art of Fighting = Final Fight
Fatal Fury = Street Fighter
Fatal Fury 2 = Street Fighter 2
Fatal Fury Special = SF2 Champion Edition
Fatal Fury 3 = SFA (not storywise)
Real Bout 1 = SFA 2 (see above)
Real Bout Special = SFA 3 (again, see above)
Garou: Mark of the Wolves = Street Fighter 3 (graphically and in storyline placement)

As for KOF 94/95, I added that because they were released around the same time as ST, and were the earliest KOF games. I'm actually trying to keep the number of SNK characters equal - that is, 17 to 17. Since I'm not adding any more Street Fighter characters (this IS SSF2 Neo, after all), there will be no new SNK characters, as the Fatal Fury list is representative of FF2/Special and KOF needs a good number of characters to represent it. There are 16 SF2 characters (not including Akuma), 8 Fatal Fury ones, 8 KOF, and Akuma and Ryo to make 17 on each side.

Well, in between my girlfriend, my arch-enemy, a move, and a broken collarbone, I haven't been able to get any real progress with my Mugen WIPs (SSF2N, SFA3 Felicia, Rugal), and since I've gotten Mugen onto my GF's computer, I can resume Mugen work to some degree (getting my work files back will be difficult).

Well, in between my girlfriend, my arch-enemy, a move, and a broken collarbone, I haven't been able to get any real progress with my Mugen WIPs (SSF2N, SFA3 Felicia, Rugal), and since I've gotten Mugen onto my GF's computer, I can resume Mugen work to some degree (getting my work files back will be difficult).

(Gives a Cookie Monster-like gasp.)

KITTY!!!!

I want Felicia as a secret charcter alongside Ryo.  Even if she has to be redone in SSF2T style! I will even rip sprites for you if she gets in as payment.

...Only if someone requests an SNK character - you see, since Akuma/Gouki is the ST secret character, I thought I would put FFS Ryo in to balance it out.

Oh, and after the sprites have been ripped, Felicia's sprites will have to converted to KOF style (while Real Bout Special would be better, that would require almost all of the characters to be resprited, as opposed to some of them).

Here is the resprite list (not all of the World Warriors need to be resprited, as most of them were in SvC):

And any "new" characters (K', Angel, Rock Howard, etc.,) may be included, though will not be in the story (since the time frame IS 1994-ish), but will share the gameplay system and everything.

And I just realized that it would be nice to resprite the World Warriors after all (in SvC they have a somewhat "blocky" look, like they were just quick conversions, and really do stand out compared to, say, pre-2001 KOF characters) so that they look more fluid and such. And any help is appreciated, though not necessary.

Super-ultra-necrobump because I still can't lose this topic, and because of a few changes and announcements:

I took Wild Tengu's suggestion and swapped Billy for Kim, and I'm currently attempting to enlist a screenpack and lifebar designer (details on first post).
