Yep, another sloppy beta, but hey, at least it's pretty :laugh3:

All joking aside, this is another character, very similar to Thor's edit some time ago, so expect some of the same issues. Again same deal, all sprite work is open source and no credit needed, you can even claim it as yours, I don't care. If anyone wants to re-code this is more than welcome to do so.

Great, I think I fixed a major bug with one of his specials so he should work and hopefully not have that problem anymore. If you see it though let me know. thx.

Aren't these the sprites that were supposed to be used to update the Animated Series Joker by Alexziq?
This is how you recognize a character is polished or not : when small details are taken care of to provide the best experience possible.

So why are they being used on a badly coded character instead of their original purpose?  Alexziq's coding is way more solid then this.

These sprites are open source, they were however inspired by an earlier edit I did on Alexziq's Joker.




Alexziq is more than welcome to use my sprites if he wishes to. He did have an update with creator named REDZ who has been gone for a while.

So Alexziq did tell me he needs a joker, so we'll see what he decides to do with his mugen game project.

My coding skills aren't that great but I needed to release this myself first to get the general idea how these sprites are suppose to work. Alexziq is a great coder but he is very busy and hard to wait for because of his work loads, respectively.

A creator named Dope said he would re-code it better but at the moment he is busy with his own work so for now there's this joker to fiddle with until the updated coding.

-Select portrait looks ugly.  Pixelated, oddly sized, and really rough edges
-What are those random lines that show up in his intro? What's with him flashing blue and white in his intro?
-Sweat lord, his clsns. 
-His stance's clsns is a mess:
 
-and there's even a frame in his stance where his clsns just DISAPPEAR:

-He is missing clsn on his bottom body on his jump:

-When he stops moving, his clsn's disappear briefly
-his clsns disappear during a frame when he's walking forward:

-no clsns on super jump, so he's invincible during this:

-Tons of frames where his gethit clsns are not even on his body:

-infinite priority on all his basic kicks
-bomb clsn is WAY too big on qcf+k and there's an clsn1 out of place on his body
-non gethit clsn's whatsoever on his qcb+k:

-infinite priority on qcf+p projectile and his body barely has a gethit clsn, making him practically invincible for that time
-qcf+p misses at close range
-infinite priority on qcb+p and it has a habit of going over the opposing character's head
-all of his supers produces weird graphical problems (the random lines and blue flashing seen in the intro)
-good god, what is this:

-all supers have massive clsn problems
-he doesn't follow correctly after hk
-will not attack while running forwards or backwards
-comboing is super stiff and barely existent
-push-back seems a little too high when opponent is against the wall
-missing sprites when thrown - turns into odd colored Redskull thing:

-char folder is messy - you should at least rename the Thor files.  This was mentioned by a few in your Redskull release, why did you do it again?  It litteraly takes 1 minute to rename them all.
-Same goes for the Thor sprites (and now the Redskull ones) in the sff.  Why are those still there when so many suggested you should remove them from your Redskull release?  For that matter, why are there Redskull sprites in there as well?

I know you want to put out characters, but seriously, you need to slow down and focus on this massive issues.  Or find a coder to work with.  I don't mean this in an offensive way, but terrible releases like this can damage your credibility as a MUGEN creator.  You seem to be taking no feedback from what was given in your Redskull release, and this one seems to have even more issues in it.  Slow down, focus on the feedback and fixing stuff.  And there's such thing as beta-testing if you want feedback from others.  If you keep releasing stuff like this, even if it's just for feedback, without showing improvement or signs of listening to feedback, then people might start ignoring your releases.

EDIT: I just re-read this, and it seems a little negative, so let me say this too - your sprite work is good and I really like the look and ideas behind this character.  His massive playability issues right now just happen to take away from this in a huge way.

K thanks for the feedback, I will look into that stuff. I am doing a couple wips at once so I hardly have time to fix this stuff, but I will make time for these corrections, just not immediately as of right now I have several more wips coming out, similar to this "ohhhh noooo!!!!" LOL

I will fix that throw sprite red skull thing now since it shows more than anything. I'll try and fill in clsn in those frames that miss it.

Also you don't have to apologize for nothing, I know I don't take my time on this, I just really wanna get my works out there before I polish them and give them their fixes. I do actually read the feeback, I just don't release the fixes right away since i have a lot of wips to do first. Red Skull has had some private updates and fixes from the feedback that has not been released.

Some stuff is done out of laziness though, I won't lie, I can't bring myself to rename a file or remove a sprite if it doesn't interfere with the character. The throw being the exception as it does interfere. I missed that one, thanks for bring it up.

I honestly don't care for creator rep, I am just sharing my edits for fun. I know a lot of people who've been asking for this one so I gave it to them in some form to play with.

Ok I fixed some stuff mentioned above, and it's ready for download. Re-download it if you like.

Also those lines and that blue flash is an indicator for when you achieve a full power bar to do a hyper attack. It will occur at the beginning of a round if you have a full power bars. I haven't been able to figure out why it does that though?

I was on training mode, so that's probably why the effect activated.  It's messy looking, you should probably take it off.

I don't like it myself but I need some kind of effect to display when you reach a level up, if you know of any good animations I would gladly consider switching it.

Personally I think it's the blue pallet effect? Maybe it needs to flash white????

I removed the pause feature before I released this joker to, so I definitely want to improve on the base mechanics. I removed them from my red skull update and the thor i edited (unreleased updates). I plan on adding a hyper bg fxs to during the attacks performance for that extra flare!

Most of the important stuff has been said already. The sprites are very nice, but the coding sadly makes him a "not enjoyable to play with" character.
You've got the best looking 2D Joker out there, just hoping to see him in nice action now, and with correctly ripped voices too. :)

Well there's 2 ways that can go. There is rep where people will tell others to download and play with your work cos it's good, or rep where people will say "don't touch that it's terrible" Now if you put a lot of work into something, even if it hasn't turned out super, you don't really want people saying it's terrible.

You also want to have pride in your own work and do the best you can. Releasing is a side effect of the creation process. Not an actual feature of it. If people "want" something, you wait till you're sure you want others to play with it. Generally you don't hand your test in until you've finished it to the best of your ability... that may be a bad analogy as there is a time limit on tests but you get the idea.

OK, I noticed this bout your Red Skull and your Joker, both has that thing bugging me as a ''first hit'' effect! but that just me tho!

And as peopel say here this is so far the best looking Joker out there! it only needs to be coded properly! maybe get help, seek help and request things you need help for! I know MFG Is a good place to get that help! so keep it up and update it please, it has a lot of potential ;)

btw: are you making Mr.Freeze? o.o

Excellent looking Joker.. with the proper coding and those issues listed previously fixed this will be a keeper...

I'm not a coder but I can get the attacks to sorta work and that's satisfactory for me as far as betas go.  However as I stated before I will update and improve what I can and I welcome anyone to code/edit/frankensprite anything I do without credit/permission onto me.

No I am not making Mr.Freeze as of yet, I have to find a larger base before I commit to creating him. I don't like the short bases spriters use on Mr.Freeze, I wanna make him intimidating by giving him his full height and power!!!

I think i might be going back to Two-Face, I had him started a long time ago.
