Not even he just giving pointers on what people need to work on to get better =P Criticism is the best Teacher
No, I was pointing out the irony of Walt saying "work on the abs", then Armentis agreeing, then him saying the same to Armentis about his evil ryu. I found that funny... ?Not really "pointers" if he doesn't say how to improve them.
It's like ... in CVSNB's Jin sprite, the abs look too round, like bubbles. The torso in general looks like it could use a rib cage.In Zero's sprites it's the opposite, the rib cage is well defined, but the abs look too wide ... like they'd fit a SF3 resolution sprite, not a CVS one.

Yeah Constructive Criticism.like i said before it a pointer in that case, he doesn't exactly need too say "how too improve it" he gave a hint what need to be work on by giving a obvious short answer.walt said, April 27, 2012, 06:11:30 pmIt's like ... in CVSNB's Jin sprite, the abs look too round, like bubbles. I found that funny... ?It's a good thing, because I meant it as a joke.Although I was under the impression that you didn't have a sense of humour. The irony of the joke is that while Armentis agrees that CVSNB's sprite abs need to be improved, he didn't notice what he did wrong in his sprite. In any case, I don't know how to tell people "make abs look like abs based in anatomy" without making it sound like they're retarded for not knowing what abs should look like, so I just fix the sprites instead and let them know what I would do different.I can't do these fixes all the time because I'm at work, and people look at me funny for having Paint open with 6x Zoom on a fighting game spritwe when our job is Logistics, so I'm sorry.

So I gave a level 2 feedback. I see. This is what I would have done for Jin's abs, but then again I'm not a CVS spriter, so maybe it doesn't stick to CVS rules (I only do KOF)
when in doubt while applying "cvs rules" always go the simplest way. I havea lor of experience with the style but I am so out of practice that i don't feel like giving feedback at all.

Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyPeople post things here that aren't that funny. At the same time, I don't go out of my way to seem super nice when I post. Thats why people think I'm mean. walt said, April 27, 2012, 07:03:31 pmAnyway that looks better, maybe raise the bottom edge of the pecs by one pixel.
yeah, CVSNB posted a super buff sprite, perhaps one his SFxT retraces ... the SF-like models are VERY muscular, as opposed to the stylized slender anatomy that CVS characters have.Having a closer look, the face is reeeeaaally good. I like his style. This is important in Capcom styles in general - faces that have a personality, and close attention to detail.
but those abs have a lightsource from the front!Try to shade them as if the light came straight from above.
Yo CVSNB here's a piece of adviseWhen drawing parts that don't move so much ... like a full Torso for example, I'd recommend working with 2 layers. That way you only need to sprite 1 really good torso, and draw the rest of the moving parts from there (like the arms).I see you're drawing and shading everything from scratch in all of those frames, so it doesn't look consistent in lines and shading through all the frames. I believe that this would save you work, and make it all look consistent. That's what I did with this oneAdmittedly, I could have added more details about moving parts, like the neck of the shirt, or changing some other pixels in the shirt ... but at the time I finished I was burned out from having to change so many pixels in the pants for every frame @_@
Yes i agree with walt. I had the same problem but i am working on it as well.Figured i should post this here.
Just needs more frames, 2 frames for the transition to the gun and one for after it's shot. I know sprites are time consuming, but it would make the animation much better.
