what is assert failure??? help!!!

i keep getting this erroe.."Assert faliure in charsel.c line 3162" i have no idea what the hell this means and am getting absolutly pissed everytime i try to play!!! i am useing the infinity screenpac and use the no-limit patch on it, other that that i only added stages and chars.

In your definitions file of the character folder there should be a line that says:
pal.defaults = (then you put a number of the pallette you want)

If this is missing, you get that error

it might take a long time to do all that, so if you want to, you can just go to the mugen.cfg, and then go to the arcade section, and change the thing about character palletes to 1 so it randomly chooses a pallete instaed of choosing palette 1.
