So as I mentioned in my Introduction post I will be trying to make a Dalek Character from Dr.Who.

I so far set up the model and some of the animation frames.
I got a couple of sounds but not all.

The thing is a Dalek isn't really a character with a lot of movement so the sprites aren't that hard.
The challenge comes from giving it a good balance and the correct attacks.

Here are my Ideas (feel free to help and pitch in)

Paletts:
- Normal 2005 Dalek (brown/bronze/gold)
- Upgraded 2005 Dalek (White, Blue, Red)
- Dalek Caan version (Blackish)

Attacks:
- Extermination Beam (with "EXTERMINATE" sound)
- Face Suck (I guess this could be a throw)
- Emergency Temporal shift (I guess it could be the losing animation)
- The Reality Bomb (Special/Super)
- Injection (the arm can be repurposed so I could use this for a light/heavy attack)
** I really could use some ideas/help here

Sprite:
The sprite currently is really really premature, the base is there but it really needs some detail.
But I think the base looks fine.
If you have any ideas and tips on how the dalek should move/be controlled please let me know

Stage:
If the Dalek is done I will create a Stage for the Dalek which will be located on Skaro or Gallifrey (source material for Skaro is really low) but it's after this 1 project at the time.

Preview:
Here is a sneak peak of the base in Mugen 1.1

oh wow this looks Awesome :o , I would love to see a Dalek in mugen personally :yippi: .....I really like your ideas for it as well by the way....oh and for palettes you could maybe use the colours off some of the daleks from the second doctor who movie (with peter cushing as the doctor) Daleks invasion Earth 2150 A.D. (since the Dalek design is simlar)

(this video has the odd Dalek pic from that movie which might be useful as well)

hope this helps at least a little bit, and good luck with this Awesome project Shuyinsan its looking great so far 8)  :)

I will have a think and will let you know if I come up with some more ideas for moves etc as well ;)

Thank you and a palette for that wouldn't be to much work.

I am currently in a stage of testing what type of render I like the most (this one has a rather prominent black outline)
- Current one - Black outline
- 2nd Version no outline - purely color and shading
- 3rd Version outline that is a shade darker then the current part it's base color (like many other mugen characters)

Next to that I made a couple of test animation (to get a feel for the amount of frames and speed) which I recorded a video for but it's so early stage it's not even een W.I.P.

Besides that a Dalek is really hard to put into mugen balance wise.
You can go the "stay true to the series" route in which case a Dalek is pretty overpowered.
He would have a huge defense and mostly insta-kill attacks.

Or go the "stay true but balance it" route in which case the Dalek would be rather weak.
He's slow, and doesn't really provice a lot of movability so I will have to come up with something other wise it would be a "fun" character.

If someone with experience with mugen coding and an interest in Doctor Who could provide some more technical insight (seeing as this is my first character) that would be awesome but for now I'm taking it slow :D

Hi again Shuyinsan :)
and sorry about the late reply but about the dalek moving slowly I was thinking that if you wanted
to speed it up a bit you could maybe give it some flying moves since the daleks in the new doctor
who series can fly

or you could maybe give it a few flying moves using a hoverbout that some daleks use for flying

hope this helps a bit 8) :)
