This question has been in my head for the longest time, but I have seen many comments in the past about using KFM rather than the Elecbyte Player template in Fighter Factory. People have told me that using the Elecbyte Player Template has a chance of breaking for whatever reason. For the past 6 years of my MUGEN experience, I have never had any trouble using the Elecbyte Player or the KFM template. Does using the Elecbyte Player or KFM Template really matter or not? I want to see what you guys have to say about it.

Don't use either of them. If anything start with KFM but then edit him to incorporate some of the changes here, then use THAT as your template.

Congratulations: You are one of the few people in the world who has managed to get a version of the elecbyte template that DOESN'T fuck you up for no apparent reason.

Many people used to come in with nonsensical problems. Nothing fixed them, just random crash because they added a sprite to the sff file. Or because they changed trigger1 to trigger2. All sorts of things. The one i remember best was someone who added a sprite with a specific number. If they did that, crash and burn. Change the number, it was fine. The problem? Using the elecbyte template.

Telling people not to saved all sorts of issues down the track.

Nothing wrong with KFM for a start. The template is just him stripped down and in a specific folder of fighter factory. Do some work to KFM so he's as stripped down and modified as you want and make your own template by putting in a new folder. Delete the electbyte template while you're at it.

:fear: Elecbyte Template, the template that caused the MUGEN community to burn. Now I see why people say it's bad, the only problem I had with the template was that if you saved it without deleting the sprite groups 5000-5072. The invisible sprites caused the whole sff to corrupt itself.

So you did have problems with it then. It's far easier NOT to use it than deal with random issue X.
