How do I increase the window size to about twices as much without having a whole bynch of black around the game screen?

Open up the mugen.cfg in notepad, it should be in the data folder. Locate the following text:

Width  = 640
Height = 480

Mine is set to that, but you can set it to whatever you want. Then you'll want to find this next line:

Stretch = 1

Its set to 1 already, but yours is probably set to 0, change it to 1.
