So...most of you are wondering if this game is gonna have any newcomers, well, we do! A couple in mind, they're gonna blow you away.First off, we're proud to announce that Annihilus from the Negative zone will be a newcomer this is one of the few collaborations between @Zaitsu Hatter: and I, we hope you like what we plan for him! I chose the Blackheart type of shading as I thought it could make him look even more menacing that the other fighters and I hope it makes him more unique than the others.We are working on his basics for now, we'll post more on the way as we make more progress on him!
I am very happy to be on this project, a perfect way to practice scratch pixel animation, which is what I'm handling.Current anims that are done are his idle (will be repolished soon, animation wise), and his walks (forward walk has been done, pending shading and detailing and some fixing, and the back walk is currently being made by me)We have a lot of ideas for him, so stay tuned for more.
I'm not a big fan of that shading style, it works for blackheart, but it's a little strange here. also, wherre are his wings?Regardless, good luck.

Looks alright for a stance, but I think the problem is that by going with a shading more akin to Blackheart's sprite, it should have more dithering and the "shadowy colors" (I dunno the term for these, but I'm talking about the purple colors in contrast with the brightened parts of his sprite) should be a bit darker and have a wee bit more contrast between the two shades or so. Overall palette should be less saturated as well.Either way I'm interested in hearing more sbout this character and his moveset... one of the reasons I loved some of the more obscure Marvel characters in UMvC3 is that they had some of the more interesting movesets imo, can't wait to see what you guys come up with.
Sprite update thanks to Zaitsu Hatter and shao_jetstream! he'll be alot taller now and will sport his cosmic rod in certain anims
That looks much better now. However, I still think he should have some leg movement when he's breathing in and out. Also, the shadowing on his visible shoulder is jittery.

Thanks for pointing that out, I think that can be left for later, once we have a good plethora of animations done, we can refine it (or maybe we can do it now, IDK). To bring some life back to this thread:Gave the idle another run.Can I call it done? Probably not, but the editing phase'll come later, so don't fret, nothing is finalized.... yet. Sketches for his idle>crouch, and turn animations.Since I'm somewhat starting to understand how creating an animation from scratch goes, here is what's next on my hit list:-Get hits (Thedge (or Hien) said it best, they are the most boring of all anims)-Basic movement (walking, jumps, dashes. You know what it is).I'll be giving this thread more love every now and then. You'll probably hear more from me, and soon.
Here are two get hit animations. I directly referenced how the Marvel characters had there get hits done by the Capcom crew.I'm still refining the turn animations, and am currently adding heads to the anims themselves. So far, only his idle>crouch, and idle crouch have been refined.Thoughts? Comments? Feedback?
Made the outlines for his stand get hits. Next up are refining all the outlines of the turn/crouch animations to match the outlines of the gethits, and then the crouch and air get hits.
