WTF!? Why cant I play Team Arcade, Survival Co-Op or Team Co-Op?!

For some reason i cant play Team Arcade or anything else that involves me and my friends to play along with me on the same team. I could only fight them not play along side of them, why is that? Can some one help me out? :'(

I remember something about having to use player 2 to select the game mode from the main menu.
