Mishima's arch was expected to end in T7, as Harada hinted. Bollocks. The renewed alliance (Lars-Jin) implies that the new game will be again a fight to death between Kazuya and Jin, so the arch is still unfinished. And given the story of this game, the character selection is unfitting in some cases. Master Raven is a poor excuse of a ninja with boobs. We already had Raven with the same moveset and the same story. Chloe as one of Kazuya's bodyguards? LEWL!! We had our classic Anna filling that spot and kinda could have closed her rivalry with Nina in this very arch. Katarina is just a "hey, I'm here because boobs and because Gigas story would be empty without me". But Gigas' story is already filled being an experiment, further of the Jack series. Also, Steve...being one of the next gen warriors? What's this? Nazi's Lebensborn? Ok, this could be interesting IF we link it to Shin and etc.

- Miguel: as far as I like him as a character...it adds nothing to this game. He could be replaced by Wang, for helping to close the arch, and he's not really sure to be dead.
- Law: I need pupils. K'ay... What about Lei instead of him? Of course, Law is a classic character and fun to use but...why not growing up his story? Lei, in the other hand could had a more interesting paper in the story, being a cop and etc(maybe working for Violet Systems intel or else).
- Lucky Chloe: what I said above. Anna could have filled again that spot, plus it's a more interesting character.
- Shaheen: Everyone knew Kazuya is/was evil as Hell. Tekken 2, anyone? Not that Devil was shown to the public(as in T7). He could have been replaced by Zafina, wanting to stop these two dark stars and else. Of course Jin was missing to the public and etc...But sensing the evil it's her point. Or what we were said.
- Lili&Asuka: We have the young gifted martial artist girl already filled with Xiaoyu. Asuka could have had a better paper because of her family's ancient powers. Lili is just fangasm, I guess.
- Bob: Same as Miguel.
- Panda: ...

These characters could have been replaced by more interesting people, storywise speaking, IMHO. Wang seemed to die in T6 because of Azazel, but that was just if he fought him, which didn't happen, as Baek. Julia had the key to control Ogre in Tekken 3, plus her paper as environmental agent could have lead her to somewhere(not a character that I like too much, but...). You wanted a kunoichi? Kunimitsu instead of Master Raven and keep Raven boy too.
