Stage Making Programs?

I did a quick search throuugh the forums and couldn't find any real topics like this.
One question - does anyone know of any great programs for making stages. I found fighter factory to be amazing help and i want to get one for stages as well.

All you need is fighter factory to make the SFF, and notepad (or notepad++) to write de def file.

thanx. you make it sound so simple, but i fear going through a 7000 page tutorial just to find out that there is a program that does it for you. :-\

There is a program that is supposed to help you place the sprites in the SFF easily, but none of the good stage creators I know of use it. We all either use values from the games or do custom stuff using some simple mathematics with our brains. :P

Take KFM's temple stage as base, and start modifying things. Learn by trial and error, and see what the various parameters do.
