Well, Dan is definitely one of my favorite Street Fighter characters because of his most important ability:
THE COMEDY.
He is a perfect comic relief on this franchise! And aside of his "dumbass/loser/overconfident" attitudesm he holds a great determination and caring for
his friends/students Sakura and Blanka/Jimmy.
Well, I already liked him before, but after I readed Sakura Ganbaru by Masahiko Nakahira I turned to like Dan more and more.
Especially on his last appearance on the mangá. That part bring some feels, altough we already know what happens during the Sagat VS. Dan fight [You know, Sagat gives up and let Dan won because of the regret of killing his father by an accident and don't want to see another person following a path of hatred, because of his own guilty]
He turning into a very SERIOUS face to Sakura, ordering her to find Ryu, and her fearing of Dan's life with tears on her eyes... That's I call a character development! I hated what happened with him on Pocket Fighter ending xD
Dan is one of the best comic relief characters on Video Game History. He needs to shine! And that's why i give a special treatment to him
