If there is anything under Gawker that isn't perceived absolute trash then you can pretty much guarantee that it'll be the first to go when they start cutting and gutting, or they'll replace some folks with Jezebel Senior Editors or similar "people". I'd be fine watching all of it die just to be sure it never rises again!
I'm sure some of those subsidiaries will stick around in some form like Kotaku even if Gawker Media can't afford to keep them. Some other shit media company will probably buy them up if they generate clicks.
