so I decided to at least make a thread on stage concepts that were either scrapped mugen stages or environmental work. I'll might also try my hand at spriting. For now here are some concepts I did
The second picture is a really wonderful painting and I'd love to see more like that from you. The very thought that these could be stages is really great as well.
You know how I feel about these already, good stuff. Looking forward to helping however I can. Hopefully your computer doesn't blow up, lol.
no just a rough layout on where to position people and stuff I just need to learn spriting to make original people
quick 15 min sketch a stage layout I'm working on while listening to this swear I really need to stop listening to drakengard ost lol
Man... These paintings are good. But transferring them to a more refined form to be used as a stage is going to take work. I honestly haven't heard or even seen many examples of converting/creating backgrounds as pixel art. In fact, I don't think it's ever actually been discussed in this section at length at all. There's always pioneers, so I hope you could be the one to do that.
It can be done or I could render the sketches into cleaner artwork if I get the chance to finalize them thanks for the comments
After a certain amount of work is put into them they'd make great stage material. Some of the ones you've converted in stages in the past were pretty good but they did have that sketchy look still. I think it can be done, it just needs to be worked on for quite some time and have several layers.
I really like all of these concepts and they could very well lead to some cool stages if you get around to it.Jesuszilla said, November 05, 2014, 02:45:58 amMan... These paintings are good. It may not be the exact look your going for ,but there are alot of useful tips to put you in some kind of direction(as well as a bunch of the other tutorials on that site in general). I wish I knew how N.O. Vice did his because it might be more relevant here.
