Mr. Sangre was the very first character I made in this style, so I thought a revamp was long-overdue...

Having real issues with shading, couldn't figure out the light tones on some areas. Tips for that or other feedback would be appreciated.

Hey,

I decided to break down your sprite as a form of warm-up for a request I have in this style for a friend here, and here's what I've come up with:




-Arms and legs don't scream feminine at all. The arms are a bit too chunky and the legs look like planks. So using Mai as the ref here, I changed the outlines to encompass more curvatures here and there. (EDIT: I fucked up on one of the arms, but you get what I mean).

-Lighting on both arms and legs don't really portray any sort of depth. Used Joe and King as refs for the lighting here. Lighting on hair, hands, feet, and top part of torso seem fine enough.

- Angle of one of the hands looks weird, so I just rotated it to be more fitting w/ the forearm's angle.

-As for the other colors of shading, I noticed that it doesn't look round enough. I saw this on the hair for example, so I broke some of the lines on the surrounding colors here and there to make it rounder, and less bandi-er



I left the rest untouched, because its your sprite and I want you to finish it. Of course, some stuff may be off because I haven't touched this style at all after my first failed venture with it, so I hope it helps, and hope its not too off.

Seeing people work in this sprite, and eFex's recent stuff make me wanna go back and try again. Good luck. : )

I traced off her TTT1 model, so I know it looks off on certain places (arms are too big for one). And it doesn't help that I learned certain things about lining after I was well past that step.

I just needed another perspective, I got about as far as I could with my own knowledge. And thanks. :)
