Setting Up Character Select

I've searched for guides online but the only results are how to make the character selectable on the select screen, but that isn't really my problem.

On the select screen, the character is there with the name and all, but no portrait nor does the sprite appear on either side like one would expect. I'm not sure what to do/how to set it to make it so that it does.

It depends on the screen pack. if the pack is set up so it's not using
9000,1
THEN if your char doesn't have 9000,whatever it wont show up.
If the char is winmugen, I think the first 2 images have to be 9000,0 and 9000,1
