I had a fun idea just to practice sprite work and that is to remade the old Chuchoryu's char of Mike from Street Fighter.

I wanted to make him closer to his despiction in SF V, changing his colors for more vibrant ones and I give him a golden necklace.

The left is the old version and the Right is my own version.

I like the idea. and you palette is actually good!
But THis Mike base need really more than that to start to look like SF1 Mike.

Also, I'm not sure this Mike have enough frames of animation etc.

The legs will definitely need some work...


Perhaps updating Davidbazbar's version would be a better choice. His base was better in my memories.

I think I know the one you're talking about, the problem is that he looks too much like Heavy-D, But that's my personal opinion.

Also Im planning in adding more sprites to this version of Mike

Yes, you're right about the resemblance with Heavy D, because of the base.
I understand.
However I think the proportions make it a better base than this old Chucho Boxer upper body + Dudley slack pants legs.
(proportions are srange, clothes are not right)

But with a big amount of edition it still can look good. Anyway good luck with this project!

Thanks, I have finished all the movement sprites (Jump, walking, etc), I need to do the intros, outros and moves. meanwhile I had to think about what movelist I should give him, Im thinking about giving him some Ground/Seismic type moves.

For some reason his sprites remind me of a Double Dragon character

Now the kicks, I wanted to make his Kicks animations actually punches with his right Arm, it was kinda hard honestly, but I hope it looks good enough.

179 individual sprites done. I literally remade all of Chuchoryu's old sprites.

Now I need to add them to a mugen to see how it goes.

Top is still a touch jittery, but the bottom looks way cleaner aside from one frame. Keep it up though, you're definitely doing great and improving bit by bit!
