Automatic 2d sprite creation

Is there a way to make 2d sprite characters for mugen without using MSPaint or other software? I want to create sprites automatic from images but I don't know if that is possible.
Is that possible?

Not possible.
And if there was, it would never look as good as manually doing it yourself.

3d model programs maybe where it has a body that you can animate but I dont know if that render can be converted to sprites exporting them in some way that you can retouch or something
