All I know is I paid 5 dollars for that movie and it was still over priced. No way in hell should anyone shell out an extra 6 dollars for some tacked on effects. (Movie honestly feels like its 3 hours long in the worst way)

Persepolis
Indie movie from the bio-graphic novel of the same name.  Really good movie, and actually funny at times.  Rare to see indie movies that are actually funny.

Batman: Under the Red Hood

I'd say it's the best of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies. Nice action scenes and plot, but I didn't really like DiMaggio's Joker. Black Mask was excellent though, but not as serious as he's supposed to be.

Book Of Eli
It was ok.
It was a little slow and boring but it got the job done.

Just finished it, so very nice.

It explores the revolutions of iran , by the eyes of a young girl that sees her country plummet into oppression.

Overrated. Undeserving of the praise it has garnered.

Princess Mononoke
Wow. I thought it would be another Spirited Away (terribly annoying), but it was actually very entertaining. Full of surprises, big and small.

If that's an accurate summary, then this movie shouldn't be regarded as educational (your post seems to suggest something along those lines). I just watched the trailer, and from the looks of it, it looks like it would have shaped up to be a very unfair commentary on Iranian history, full of purposeful historical suppressions that leave the viewers uninformed/misinformed while convincing them that they've 'become' just the opposite.

It's worth watching for the animation only.

If animation alone was enough to make something great, then I'd proudly say that I think differently. When a movie's story, writing, character development, etc. are trash, I think that  that should show somewhere in a reviewer's critique.

Its a biography. the life of the author.

Biographies leave you knowing how the persons living those things felt.
It seems to be a biography that gives its own subliminal commentary on historic events. As such, it shapes opinions.

My criticism was harsh, but a documentary like this, which surrounds such a hot topic, and yet seems takes place after 1953 (a pivotal time in Iranian history) plus the run up to it, deserves said criticism.
I'm interested. Tell me honestly, how did you feel about the Iranian government after watching the film? And, as the trailer suggests, did the film start with the overthrow of the Shah?

Sorry, if I'm leading you into a larger discussion.

Fuck My Keyboard! I'm getting frustrated by all of the letters it misses.
