Favorite Fighting Game Music

[gqsuperstar]

One thing I believe is kind of underappreciated in the fighting game realm is the music. You need the right music to get into the fighting mood. I mean, it doesn't make sense to have Kirby fight Jigglypuff to Gospel music, or to have Shin Akuma LVL2 fight Gill to Peanut Butter Jelly Time. What is your favorite fighting game music?

My Favorite: All the music from Street Fighter III: Third Strike

[RunningWild]

I have too many to list, but my #1 favorite would Terry Bogard's theme "Big Shot" in KOFXI. Excellent update to a classic theme.

Hall of Fate from Tekken 5

All Theme Songs from Street Fighter 2
Snowy Railroad from Street Fighter 4

[S.D.]

Tons.
To mention a few, some tunes from Bloody Roar 2, Toshinden 3 and DOA 2/3 are pretty amazing (Just an aside from the generic "KoF" & "Street Fighter" replies)

[Lasombra Demon]

Samurai Shodown/Spirits tunes were pretty incredible for their era.

Why was the entire soundtrack of the Guilty Gear series not mentioned yet?

As per normal I agree with a lot of the GG/SF remarks but on top of that.

The opening theme from Tekken 3 really set the mood excellently.

I also like Moonlit wilderness from Tekken5.

Some of the songs/remixes from CvS1 are way better than their CvS2 counterparts from the player select to BB (SNK stage). There are tons of nice songs in there!

[Duo Solo]

Honestly, there are too many good fighting songs . You would have been better off making the topic about fighting music we hate.

The SFA2 soundtrack is one of the best ever made IMO.  The way they remixed the famous themes of old was brilliantly done, especially for its time.  And the tracks that weren't remixes were excellent on top of it.

Replace SFA2 with SFA2 Gold and I totally agree with you! Especially Cammy's theme.

I'll always love Marvel Vs Capcom 1's soundtrack. It was a welcome change from the usual instruments used in XMVSSF, MSHVSSF, and if I'm not mistaken even Mega Man 2 The Power Fighters. It was something new and awesome, and still is!
