Why are Movies of Fighting Games getting worse and worse?

I saw Tekken this year..and now King of Fighters..which was even worse..Streetfighter story of Chun Li was also damn bad

2 Years ago i saw Dead or Alive also pretty bad..but that one had at least a few funny scenes and a few good choreographed scenes as well.

At the start..there was just Mortal Kombat in 1994? Which has a fanbase till today, and many people were amazed when that professional looking  trailer was showed in April 2010.

MK was soon fiollowed by the first SF movie which was for the most people dissapointing..the second Mk movie was also nothing compared to the first one.

But Tekken and KOF are so damn bad that i ask myself what in the hell got into the heads of the people producing it.

Do not make Movies into games, most of them are shit.

I didn't see them but I knew those movies would be horrible after reading the reviews they've gotten.
I'm not expecting the new MK movie to even reach the minimum of my margin.

MORE BETTER doesn't exist. It's either better or not.

Anyway, you guys know they just want to make money based on a franchise, they don't care if the movie looks like the goddamn Cirque du Soleil.

i think the epic fail in this kind of movies are the directors didn't have F*@#$&&ing idea of the argument of the games looking and the characters too,and invent a poor ideas of the game in their conception and kill the fans expectation all the time
the same happen with dragon ball involution the director didn't know dragon ball

I didn't see Tekken so I can't comment on that but, these later movies are crap even without the tie-in to a franchise. The first Street Fighter was campy but it was fun to watch. Mortal Kombat yeah it had some changes to the story, but it was faithful to the source.

but the later films seem to toss out the plot completely and make something that has no connection to the games. I know they want to attract both the fan base and viewers not familiar with the series. But when you make just a bad movie slapping a video game name to it gets you neither group. And they wonder why the fans get angry.

I never got the impression that a fighting game could have a good back story unless it has a good source material, like Bleach before Aizen became a fairy.

Any game you play where story is not important enough to glance at is never going to make a good movie unless it's animated.  When live action movies of video games are made, they tend to focus on making the characters more believable and place them into real world systems, or as close to that as possible.  Problem is, you can't do that with fighting games because the characters are typically over the top, moves are flashy, explosive, throwing energy around, it looks crappy in movies, for example: Lu Kang's bicycle kick in Mortal Kombat.  They're going to be crappy, unrecognizable versions of the original or so campy it makes you ashamed of having watched it.
