Techno in Fighting Games?

I want to know how you all feel about the growing trend of fighting games techno-raping their soundtracks.

Personally, I feel they don't pull it off right and it sounds like shit. The only good techno-esque theme i've heard is Electric Fountain, but that's about it.

A song is a song.  If it sounds good and fits the mood of the game, they could have country in the background for all I care.  Hell, my favourite track from Tekken 6 is techno-folk.

If the music fits then the genre is irrelevant to me.

It's not like we're going to ever hear again the kind of diversity older games had anyway.

IMO techno fits well to Fighting games.
I'm more into rap music, but I won't to hear that stuff in a fighting game, (excapt it woulb be a Samurai Champloo Fighting game  )

Any type of music in a fighting game can be tolerable if used correctly. For example, if there was a really annoying teenage boy character in a fighting game, Justin Bieber music would be fine for him. Just not every track in the game.

Basically any style can sound like total shit or just get real old real fast if done for the entire soundtrack. Guilty Gear X, MVC2, etc. I know the old CPS2 games used the same instruments and whatnot for each song, but even then they had a variety in terms of mood and feel for each song.

So yeah, techno can be cool in fighting games. Just so long as it doesn't take over the soundtrack.

Last time I commented on some random video/song on youtube expressing my negative thoughts on OCRemix (Not OCRemix's account btw) my comment had like 5 thumbs down a minute later and an angry ass comment from OCRemix themselves. I was like, jesus..do they just wait all day to see if anyone on Youtube trash talks them?
