I'm making an edit of one of the links released, and I'm trying to add a bombchu to his movelist.  what I wanted to do was have it go back and forth for a set time before exploding, but if it hits the enemy it'll also explode on impact.  does anyone have an idea how I should go about  coding this

Cyanide

So, you need to code the character? Sounds like you've answered your own question.

Oh, and if you need to find something out, nothing is actually a waste of time because you'll learn something.

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

Need more information because i don't want to download something to find out what is actually wrong.

Download MCM off Randomselect.  Open the SFF with MCM and save it again.  This should solve your problem.

Mugen Character Maker. Regardless, on Randomselect it's listed as "M.C.M." under Download Tools from the left side navigation.

Try FFU ( Fighter Factory Ultimate ). Every file with ""Stream Read Error"" from my experience gets fixed by this.

I already mentioned before that I tried with both ffc and ffu and it didn't work so that's a no

2OS

Yea no you didn't.

If Mugen 1.0 can't load it then it's a corrupt unfixable file. I say 1.0 because of SFFv2.

oh yes I did in my first post, it's just been changed, so I don't blame you for notbeing able to see it.

it loads and shows none of the sprites as if it were empty in ff and mcm, but the character still works in mugen 1.0.

I do have .sff2 though I can't find a program to load them

2OS

I knew it. That's why.

Until FF3 is out, this is the only thing that can open and modify SFFv2's.

I personally wouldn't convert to SFFv2 until the char is complete. If you can't resist that then at least back up the v1.

yeah you totally skipped over my request and went straight to sff2s  >:(

I need help opening normal sffs that do not open in ff, ffu, or mcm. they work in mugen 1.0 so they are not corrupted

2OS

yea you totally missed the point entirely.

it isn't a normal sff if those programs can't open it but mugen 1.0 can. just because the extension isn't ""sff2"" doesn't mean it isn't one.

okay you apparently don't know what you're talking about.   if it doesn't have the extension .sff2 at the end then it isn't a sff2, which we all know know computers can run a file if it isn't using the proper extension >:(

can I get help from somone who does

Алексей

The SFF2 format can be either saved out as a .sff2 or a .sff. That's what 2OS has been trying to tell you. You are the one with the misunderstanding. SFF2 cannot opened Fighter Factory until version 3 is out. Use Nomen or some other SFF2 viewer.

Also, you do know that a file extension doesn't change the contents of the file for the most part. View an SFF and SFF2 (regardless of file extension) separately in a Hex Editor. You'll see extreme differences. The header structure is completely different. Anyways, if this doesn't answer it, then nothing will. Everyone here is trying to tell you the same thing and you refuse to listen.

Indeed think for at least a second instead of jumping to the first clearly dumb thing that comes to your mind.

The extension can be "".SFF"", that doesn't mean it's a ""normal sff ( v1 )"" as you put it. Add that with the justifiable by YOUR words facts that all versions of FF and MCM ( and how much do you wanna bet WinMugen ) not being able to access it = It is undoubtedly a v2 or greater.

Don't fucking reply here again until you try the tool I KINDLY linked you to that can not only view them but MODIFY AND CREATE them too.

I already figured you'd say winmugen wouldn't  run it so I downloaded  the older version and the characters still work so clearly I'm not the one being dumb  --;  btw still didn't work even in your program

-edit-
didn't see your post kenshinxo, yeah that makes more since, the other guy wasn't explaining it all that well.

1. Stop quoting posts directly above yours.
2. Give me the file this is getting absurd.
