So lets say that you were tasked with introducing a new crisis to end new 52, what plot points would you use to crisis it up?

- I have no idea, I don't think I can answer that, to determine the most terrible thing ever that has no redeeming qualities at all. I mean I could go with Gundam SEED: Destiny but even that had a smidgen of promise at the start so I dunno!
- huh, I dunno, I would want it to be something that had a really good premise or potential but was, for whatever reason, never lived up to it. Something like how the Battlestar Galactica reboot took a crappy Star Wars ripoff and actually took the premise of that show seriously, and extrapolating from there.

- I would have to go with someone who doesn't have a history of terrible things happening to their love interests (so people like Spider-Man, Captain America, and Batman, and actually pretty much every single superhero are all out), so probably Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) or Superman, maybe? I dunno.

- SEED Destiny, SEED, Wing; Destiny is tops because it manages to take everything bad about SEED and magnify it to an unbearable degree, next is SEED because only is almost every facet of production is done so terribly and the universe and premise of the show are wasted horribly at every single step, and last is Wing because after everything Gundam's been through the last decade, looking back Wing isn't look too bad. I mean sure there is all the absurdly powerful plot armor, and nonsensical dime-story philosophy shouted out at every second, but at least it feels like they're trying.

- They are in scale,! Almost every single Gundam model line has a specific scale; Master Grade's is 1:100 scale. So for example, the first Gundam is 18.5 meters in universe, and so the Master Grade's height is 18.5 centimeters. And since they use the in universe heights to determine each model's size, size differences between models will naturally result; it's the reason why turning both the absolutely massive Psyco Gundam (41.0 meters tall) and the Gundam Mk-II (19.6 meters tall) into HGUC kits (1:144 scale) will produce an image like this

- all of them? or individually? Hulk for Avengers, even though I didn't actually list Hulk in that roster, Goyer would just say Hulk when he heard She-Hulk and say Hulk would win, the end. Wolverine for X-Men "because he's a killer, none of the other X-Men can do that, they couldn't take him out for good and he'd just heal" (which is of course baloney but it's Goyer). Batman for the Justice League teams because it's Goyer and of course he's going to go with the lazy BATMAN IS DA BEST PREP-TIME shit. None for Legion because Goyer would complain only virgin nerds know what the fuck the Legion of Superheroes is
- Lex Luthor, the Joker, Darkseid, Thanos, Doctor Doom. None of them can really sustain an ongoing title (and in the Joker's case, it's been tried, and it didn't work at all). But I think limited runs definitely work for pretty much all of them, except Joker and Darkseid, probably. Luthor's had several arcs centered on him, there's a lot of grist there that can produce stories about him, same deal with Thanos and Doom. Darkseid is just too much of an overpowering presence that he doesn't really work as a protagonist, and Joker exists so entirely in opposition to Batman that doing a story where Joker is the protagonist just doesn't make sense.
- Batman doesn't kill the Joker because most versions of Batman don't kill; he is absolutely not responsible for the Joker's killings. It's not Batman's job to dispense the death penalty onto people: Batman's a super-cop, like most superheroes; it's not for nothing that in the Silver Age Batman was an official deputy to Gotham City's police department! Thus his job is to arrest people, and let the court decide. And of course killing the Joker would inevitably lead to Batman killing all of his rogues galley, because most of them have killed people, and you're left with an empty rogues gallery. Superheroes killing their villains just doesn't work in a long format medium like superhero comics. (short form comics, movies, cartoons, and the like are a different story, though)

All this bullshit that always pops up by shitty writers of OH NO JOKER HAS KILLED PERSON X THAT IS CLOSE TO ME, THIS IS REALLY THE LAST STRAW, I MUST KILL JOKER... NO I MUSTN'T is a false dilemma, a phantom of a problem that only exists because of bad writing. The solution is pretty goddamn easy: keep the Joker's body counts relatively low, don't have the Joker murder literally hundreds of people every time he pops up. BTAS proved that he can still be incredibly menacing without actually showing him murder people onscreen (they were able to get away with mentioning it in newspapers, and show it on screen in Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker). No other supervillain in Batman's rogues gallery has this problem, not even R'as Al Ghul, who is literally a super-terrorist! All because they aren't shown murdering the population of a small town every time they appear in a Batman story.

And while we're at it, can we please stop making Batman go to outrageous lengths to save the Joker? Like, it's pretty ridiculous to see that the one person Batman puts the most amount of effort into saving, time and time again, is the Joker. But like, I don't mean replacing that stuff with the "I'm not going to kill you, but I'm not going to save you either" kinda bullshit from Batman Begins either, because Batman should save everyone no matter what in most interpretations of the character, just stop coming up with scenarios where Batman has to save the Joker. It's insane, and does anyone actually like seeing it? No way!
