It looks good! But what happened in the 3rd frame, his right leg (our left)? It doesn't have any kind of anti-alias/shading

The left viewer leg actually seems to revert to the CPS2 style of shading in the 3rd frame. I believe he may have forgotten to just touch up on it. Regardless, I seriously cannot wait to see how Victorys will use them.

Good work demongorne. ;)

That's due the fact i used sfa ryu as reference but i don't think that's a mistake cuz the cvs graphic use sfa sprites as well for some chars....

Nice to see that you're still working on your CvS Takuma/Mr. Karate sprites, they are awesome. I will totally use them when you get enough time to finish him :)

Oh you're the welcome to use them, when I'll complete the full sff I think to put it as open source file

S. Jetstream

It's just me or you double posted?

Anyways, @demongorne: what happend to your webpage and its sprites?

HadeS

But one thing is when you do it on all the sprites, and another is when it's just a part of the sprite and the rest is CvS style.

I apologize for the double post... regarding my web site I don't know but i guess that my domain has expired

You're right but I'm just making an hybrid between the two stiles

S. Jetstream

Something like your Mr.Karate? Just don't put him SFA arms while having CVS body.

You might want to reconsider that stance, mate:

(This isn't a fix but just an illustration of a concept. Feel free to mess around with it further)

Also, when you said:

That's not what we meant. In your sprite your making your entire character fit in with the CvS style, and we are saying that one part of it flickers and goes back to Alpha style, which is wrong. When making a sprite, you have to be consistent.

If you make a character that's a mix of CvS/Alpha, it has to be consistent with that. If you are making a CvS character, it still has to be consistent with what you are doing, and since you mentioned that you are making a CvS Takuma/Mr. Karate, it has to be consistent with the CvS style of spriting.; you can't mix willy-nilly two styles of spriting in this case, even if you are referencing it.

But in the original game there are some chars that using hybrid sprites (i'm referring to dan cvs sprites: he use some modify sprites taken by cvs ryo for hadoken and hao-shikoken)... anyway in the future i'll take care to fix even this thing

Ok I retouched the 3rd sprite of the anim 1000, does it looks more cvs-ish?

first ,  now

That's great, i don't know what to say about his upper gi.

Practising. Please don't tell me that the abs look like bubbles, do they?

Spoiler (click to show)

lui

they look good, if not a bit too large but it's fine.

his bicep looks like a balloon

S. Jetstream

Which one? I didn't edit benhazard original sprite there.

lui

S. Jetstream

That's his shoulder(i guess, his bicep is under the gray colours)

hatter

Upper body is the most problematic. Right (viewer) peck is flat, same goes for the abdominal muscles. Minimize the usage of light shading here.

On the topic of the upper body, fix up the left peck, it looks deformed. In addition, re-position the abs properly. And what the hell happened to the right (viewer) shoulder?

Sorry for overworking this sprite guys. I'm not even sure it's CVS anymore, but I think it solves some of the problems in the original.

S. Jetstream

I was working on something but i guess that does the thing. I'm saving that sprite tho

awesome fix walt, you're pretty good at the cvs style as well as kof! that's a good trait to have lol

walt

Styles are not as important as getting the basics down - Proportions and anatomy. Gotta know where the muscles are supposed to be located and how to handle them.

See the transition from abs to pectorals? I've been watching boxing for a few years now, and a couple of the most CUT fighters have that weird muscle, also SF4 Ryu. Rib cage limits,  hip bones, that weird place where shoulder + chest + collar bone converge. Everything is important :2thumbsup:

lui

remember shao, the muscles for males in the cvs proportions are always athelete level, look at joe for reference and look at anatomy books
