I've been making a character and I've been playing the Last Remnant for a long time and the critical offense in The Remnant was really cool and I was wondering if its possible?

I make an attack (State 200) with a Varset with the V at 50 and value at 10000. And make that var happen randomly like a critical. And it can only happen right before the image with the red clsn box.
Then it changes to stateno 10200 because of the Vars value. State 10200 will start where the original attack left off. But that won't be the state that hits the opponent. Thats the state that gives you a chance to get a critical. I add a pause (with me still moving) in the state 10200 so I have a chance to press the x or y and I can only press x or y during the pause. In the changestate like this

triggerall = command = "x" || command = "y"
trigger1 = time >= 0 && time <= 30 ;30 is 1 second isn't it?

When I press x or y, then I'll change to stateno 10201 for the hit. If I don't press anything I'll make it change to stateno 10202 like this

triggerall = command != "x" || command != "y"
trigger1 = time >= 0

with a varset that removes the v = 50 and the value = 10000 and then goes back to stateno 0.

Does that sound like it'll work or is there an easier way?

You don't need to check if "command!=something", just tell it to change to state 10202 if the input window is over, i.e. time>30.

Everything else should work, and one second is 60 ticks, not 30.

I see. Then I will be back if something goes wrong. Thank you. :pleased:

Something went wrong. Just one thing. My Varset is acting odd.

[State 0, VarSet]
type = VarSet
triggerall = AnimElem = 2
trigger1 = random < 100
v = 50
value = 10000

At first it works. My attack works regular without pausing like it should. And when it goes into Var(50), it pauses and everything works great, but for some reason it doesn't stop going into Var(50) once it goes into Var(50) the first time. And to make sure it goes back to Var(0), I put a varset in all the states that my 200 goes into when it goes into var(50). Still didn't work.
Does that even make sense? :-\

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I'm actually new to vars. I started using them about or 2 a month ago.
