So, as a die hard MUGEN fan, I know that the "Mortal Kombat Project" chars won't play well with regular MUGEN, causing characters to freeze in mid-air when their HP reaches 0, not staying down after an uppercut, or even getting knocked to the far end of the stage after certain attacks and not being able to move unless attacked again, among other things. A while ago, I vaguely remember there being a fix someone made using a modified common.cns file, but that has been since lost to the void. I also know it is possible to convert MKP chars to regular chars, but I have yet to find a tutorial detailing how to do so. Can anyone lend me a hand in this endeavor?

If I remember correctly, if you copy MKP's "common" file into each MKP character individually and make sure their .def file is adjusted properly then when you add them to a regular Mugen game they -should- run a little better. Not perfect but better.

these characters have been designed to work in MKP only, live with that.

I wouldn't be too hasty about that, I've already managed to get a character somewhat functional with regular MUGEN using the patch and some code tweaking here and there, it's not 100% yet, but the fatalities are working and the opponent character responds to the Fatality timer better, not freezing in midair when triggered. I might make a small video detailing my progress to see if anyone can further help me out.

if he has the proper coding skills, he can make it work for mugen, i mean mkp is based in mugen ,so its just a matter of changing what needs to be changed in order to make a proper patch & he seems to be on his way towards that

So I decided to use borg117's update to MKP 4.1 for use with MUGEN 1.1 and try to port the patch over to it to make a 1.1 patch. It works great, but the main issue is that now the opponent negates the fatality timer. The AI does not enter dizzy mode and thus triggers immortality for them. Everything else works awesome though. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to fix this. If anyone wants to lend me a hand for this, I really appreciate it.

If you want to help me out, you'll need the new MKP 4.1 for 1.1, you can find it here: http://mkmp.myfreeforum.org/sutra41094.php#41094

I never said it wasn't possible to do the conversion. I simply stated that the original author made them for MKP only, for whatever reason, the least you can do is respect the author's decision.

I simply stated that the original author made them for MKP only, for whatever reason, the least you can do is respect the author's decision.

These kind of statements crack me up. The original author made them in the stone age because there was no Mugen 1.0 and no one expected if this engine would continue to be updated. It has nothing to do with 'the author decided to leave it so' and after 10 years or more, I doubt the author if still around gives a damn about it! I know that some are over-protective over their 'valuable code' (when in fact it's copy pasta and not like you invented a new technology, it's what you use from Elecbyte's templates), but let's not get ridiculous with something as basic as outdated chars. Also funny how in the Mugen community, once when someone leaves, he deletes everything and drops a nuke so nothing remains out of it, no sites, no uploads. no vids, just complete erasing as if he's holding some secret documents that have to be erased on the moment lol! (excluding cases of deletion due to inactivity) - it's a freaking code people, most even from template, no need to go NERD rage that someone copy pasted a '+' and 'trigger =' or other math symbol from your outdated chars! Gawd dammit!!

Now, this is the latest I could find about 'some conversion' - is there any MK3/newer chars from these that are converted to make some Mugen 1.0 code work. cause sadly all newer updates who have e.g mugenversion =01,07,2000, It kills the point of 'new release' if you cant use it with some 1.0 or 1.1b code..
