Remember those wooden dolls artists used to pose for references?
To the trash with those!

Now there's this fancy yet lightweight program that enables you to pose a 3D model.
It even has a flesh molded over which bends along with the body part rotations!

Camera can be moved, rotated and zoomed.
Free version I believe doesn't let you save a pose. Not sure about exporting options,
I didn't use them yet, PrtScn so far has worked for me!

Works on:
Windows® 10
Windows® 8
Windows® 7
Windows® Vista

example image spoilered due to size:
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

Give it a try!

Oh hey, I remember this. Me and @Demitri: were talking about this once. :)

I think you need the Pro Licence version for that. Unfortunately, I can't make sure of that for you because when I was reading that webpage, my laptop froze up, and I am a bit paranoid of that occurring again.

Yeah, I fiddled with this thing way back when. I liked it a lot, but its kinda limiting without purchasing/pirating a pro version. It's really nice being able to move and morph things however you like, and once you get used to how things work in it, it's pretty nifty. On the same token, if you don't be careful, you could 'ruin' the model and create something unrealistic. It's cool if that's your goal but it'll hurt a artist if they're still new (this is from experience btw) and that wasn't their goal.

IMHO you are better off learning the good ol fashioned way if you aim to use this for spriting and stuff. If you just need to quickly pose a model without getting exact details correct, this can be very valuable.
However, I personally think this thing is only really worth it if you get the pro version, as saving models would be a godsend. Your bases would have consistent sizes and you could just have loads of fun experimenting. You can't 'exactly' do that with the way it is in the free version.

That aside, it's funny you mention those wooden dolls @Balthazar: I showed @Zaitsu Hatter: this a few days after trying this program out

too bad it costs an arm to get.  :foreveralone:

I can't tell you how many times I've Googled this to see if it existed (DesignDoll, not Qumarion, though admittedly, the latter's incredible).
