Yeah no nobody takes DoA seriously. Not even Tecmo. They should pretty much cut out the middleman and make a 3d waifu simulator.

One, there was Tekken Ball.
Two, don't pretend that what he was talking about was mainly the fanservice which was exactly what I was pointing out.
And finally three, You are still making my point for me by basically saying that DOAX3 even remotely being connected to the main fighting game is a terrible thing against it when the main fighting game itself is a solid game. "But why don't people play it?" For exactly what you just said since people allow themselves to think it's a bad game simply because it focuses on it's fanservice alot.

And it's even more ironic since Soul Calibur has gotten worse than it without having an "Xtreme Beach" mode and any SC fan who doesn't have blinders would say the same thing. Tekken does have obviously fanservice costumes as customization options and there is obviously loads of fanservice costumes for females in SF5, so yeah don't try to hide behind the "it doesn't have a fanservice side game with it" argument because last time I checked it didn't need to obviously cater to those types of individuals.

Speaking of fanservice. I believe those hot spring images actually are about unlockable or DLC costumes. If you look at the male ones (which is obviously the one I was looking at), you can see a little skin color of Ryu's leg and slightly above it, there is a bit of black, which means he should be wearing a regular underwear/speedo, Yukimura's legs are almost completely shown, which means he is using either a very short towel or a fundoshi, and you can see that others are using towels as well, but with seemingly different sizes. I don't think they'd make different underwears just for hot spring events/cutscenes, and since towel costumes have been a thing (for females) in both DoA and Samurai Warriors, as well as underwears for both genders in DoA, it would make sense if there was something similar in this game. That woman wearing a towel in a hotspring in the last trailer was likely a hint towards this and not a specific character.

The arcade scene seems to take DoA seriously, Tekken's the one that looks like a joke in comparison.

Silly characters and themes are just that. You can safely ignore the stupid little girls and tacky customs when the cooler chars are still getting their due.

Which makes it even more funnier is that DOA has been gaining traction within the tourney scene as well with even more international players making it to NEC last weekend and even more international tournaments and players will show up next years' NEC.
And Tom Lee still stated that they will support DOA's yearly battle royale until 2019 at the very least.

And from what people from those tournaments told me with the numbers, TTT2 and SC5 barely scratches DOA's numbers anymore so because it's not doing SF5/MKX numbers means that DOA isn't taken seriously? GTFO.
