By pause i meant the time where JNP left coding Gotenks to rush to Piccs then go back to Gotenks, but i get it Sooooooo,is he done on the spriting part?Spriting is hard but coding is on another level of hard xD
With TeamZ2 characters, from what I've seen, the basics (walk, run, back walk, back dash, jumping, ducking and gethits), normals (punches, kicks, grabs, blocks) and some simple specials are done first so that they can be coded into the character first to get a base going. A punching bag that can sort of fight back, if you will. Spriting/revision continues alongside the coding process.I'm not speaking for TeamZ2, only basing the process off observation.
Im foreign to this thing but im pretty sure coding takes more time than spriting.Though i do agree both are fairly very time consuming.
Technically it depends on the talent level of the person. But like I coded Piccolo a lot faster than Balthazar sprited in most cases. But it depends on the complexity of the Sprite and code really. In most cases I'd say coding is easier and faster.
As someone who'd decent as both, ART takes way longer.People who've never done art before have no idea how long it takes. Think of it like dreaming. You sleep for 8 hours and the dream feels either like an eternity or an hour. Either way you think of it, the scale is waaay off. Either it took an eternity to draw the thing, or you work on it for 8 hours and it looks like it took 1. Works of art, REAL works of art takes HUNDREDS of hours. Then a regular person wants to buy it for $40. Cuz working for 4 pennies an hour is a real thing. 300xminimum wage>2,000.Now think of 8x7. Instantly you know 56. Well, if you're good at math. The only thing that takes long in coding is the actual testing, or learning the trick to make things work. Heck, a lot of coding is copy and paste. I mean I have stuff from ALL of my characters in ALL of my characters. I just got done editing my Metroid code from Samus into NoobSaibot.Draw a circle on piece of paper and see how long it takes. Without using tools* Then shade it so it looks like a sphere and notice how much the clock's moved./rant

No way man!And my original inspiration for the move was Donovan's sword plant so yeah, DS vibe is accurate.
Spriting is hard and it takes a while. I'm not as fast as the veterans. Here's some of the stuff from the last few months:These are for the special move discussed.

Normally, I have to put the characters on hold for some time until new sprites are ready and available. That doesn't mean coding is easier or harder than drawing sprites, don't get me wrong. It's just that doing changes to a code is faster than doing them on a sprite.

It's just that doing changes to a code is faster than doing them on a sprite.Alright, code's easier and lesser a pain on the backside than sprites, got it In case you still accept pals here's my last two: (and only them)or i'll include them myself, will he have ssv2?I believe the release of him (and only him :/ in the next build) is near,i might be wrong though.
That second pal looks horrible, theres colour mixing everywhere and the tones dont even mix in the skin and pants.
Want me to make another one in it's place?(I will,to be even)I tried to make him look bloody and pale,it didn't work out it seems
You dont need to force yourself to be even. Having stray colors popping off like that just looks wrong in any form of moving media.
Nah,i meant even in number and with other chars but alright, here:Take that instead of the bloody one:I've seen someone do that before and it worked,i did not pull that stunt off afterall.Im happy you didn't mention the first one, glad i imitated Patrick's colours well somehow.
