For those wondering, this is not the SFO we're all tired of dealing with.
You can help with Ikemen GO's development by trying out the latest development build and reporting any bugs on GitHub.
My Mugen and Ikemen content can also be found here.

*Waits for this to impact the other SFO negatively. Grins sadistically at the thought of it. Hell maybe I'll spam their forums with ads from this SFO.*

  • I've got ballllls of steeellll.
IGN says it'll be out by April 2008 already.

http://pc.ign.com/articles/845/845823p1.html

This article made it a LOT more clear to me what this game is going to be like.  Other articles seem to give a great deal of flack about the graphics, but I personally don't care about that one bit.  This mouse-controlled-fighting idea is very intriguing to me.

Now about this "customizable parts" issue.  On one hand, if each part the player chooses has a drastic effect on gameplay (big bulky arms slow down punches as well as strengthen them etc.), I believe this is a great, original idea.  On the other hand, if the parts are purely for aesthetics, I couldn't care less about it.  They don't seem to be telling either way on this issue so far (if you know feel free to share).  What I do know is that I HATE the idea that you have to buy each and every part before you can even try them out.  And odds are that if you want any life out of this game, they will more or less force you into doing this within the first few hours of playing.  This will make it (IMO) no different than any other pay-to-play online game that's out there, and since I don't play any of those, I will probably try this and delete it within a handfull of hours.

Yes, it will be free to download the entire thing, except for all of the customizable parts.  I think they're making a huge mistake and this should definitely be the other way around.

There's a deeper story to the character mixing and matching. Daletto has partnered with Kaiyodo, the toy maker response for the Revoltech brand of toys that feature swappable body parts. The characters in Street Fighter Online are meant to be Revoltech models fighting in a digital world. In the real world, Kaiyodo plans on releasing a Revoltech toy line based on the Street Fighter Online characters.

it already has a better plot than sf4

don't really want to know what/who agreed to character usage rights but it brings up my mind

Can this stand to usurp the position of worst Street Fighter Crossover??
The previous king I Believe is
Street Fighter: The Movie; the game[Mix between SF and real life]

but some would argue the EX Series [Arika can't hold a candle to SNK, i must sadly admit]
personally i don't find it to be a bad game or series, but of course people think otherwise
thus enacting the "Please!! NO 3D Street Fighter!!" sentiment felt by most fans...
personally, I feel back then was a mistake... on Arika behalf. But the SF series simply wasn't
ready for the jump, as with Castlevania. We've all read about the creator stating he was
dissatisfied with the 3D installments. Perhaps now is the time for the 3D leap??

...wow off topic
/end rant

  • Three times thicker font than a normal user.
009? That's one reason I'd play this game.

Imagine a zanguief runing to attack ryu, ryu does a quick+kind of weak fast punch and hit the chest of zanguief, will this punch be enough to zanguief say/think \"oh no, this punch hurted a little, I better stop the attack and put my hand on my chest to help contain the pain while ignoring if ryu is going to make other attacks now"

It has 004/Albert Heinrich not 009/Joe Shimamura, but signed.

Too bad the controls look tedious as hell... the revoltech figures are pretty bad as well (Zangief being the worst, the face is nothing like Zangief's... and Guile's figure comes with a comb and a knife)
