Thanks for your recommendations. I'm still working on fixing everything up.

Again, about the blood, I'd honestly rather go without it. I think what I'll try to do is implement all of the suggestions first, then re-release Liu Kang with blood and without blood.

As for the debate, I think it was the gore that made the MK series unique.
Friends of mine have described the sense of justice they felt when they performed a fatality/brutality/etc. on an opponent that they'd been trying to kill for ages.

Lastly, yes, I was Shadowsonic on Sonic Vegemite. Actually, Shazzo is just an abbreviation of Shadowsonic that I started using.

I get modded for calling a work cornball, and mods get actively involved in shitting the thread of a creator that clearly states he just doesn't want to do a certain thing with his character?

He's better than your past works easily, but I found one problem: You can easily infinite the bicycle kick (just keep repeating it in a corner). I got 80+ hits by doing it o_O

Yes, I'll be making more MK characters in this style. I'm thinking of doing Raiden next, followed by Reptile or Kung Lao (purely because I like the game MK:Shaolin Monks).

As for the recommendations:
The bicycle kick is now slower. However, I've yet to eliminate the infinite hit problem.
The suggestion about turning the kick into an arc isn't going to be implemented, because it's based on the kick of MK:Armageddon, not the 2D series.
The flying kick is slower.
The brutality now ends with an uppercut.
Attack and defense has been lowered.
The animality now causes partial damage when blocking.
Mis-alignment of the hitsparks has been corrected.

What's left:
Blood hitsparks. Maybe.  --;
Updating the fireball to resemble his MK3 shot more.
Implementation of the "FINISH HIM" moment.
Fatalities. Although they're not going to be filled with gore. Probably just a big brutality.
Altering the collision boxes.

When all this is done, I'll re-release him. Actually, that reminds me. Sorry Excursion, but I accidentally ruined the icon palette again. When he's re-released, could you please fix it again for me?

As for contacting Binho, can he/she speak English? Whenever I visit his/her site, I have to use Google to translate it.

Lastly, does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to create the "FINISH HIM" moment? I found one once, but it was written in Engrish and when I tried it with my Donatello (just as a test) it didn't work.

Dude, I only have 2 problems...
1. Blood hitsparks are a MUST for any MK character.
2. Gore filled Fatalities are what makes MK characters great! I can see your not into Violence much, but if your trying to make MK characters.... They need fatalities and GORE! Look at Kazmer13's Shao Kahn.... Purely Awsome (EXECP The baby smashing fatality, thats just fucked up)

Hmm... well, I did sort of get used to it in Shaolin Monks... But still, I'm not really into them. And even if I was, I don't even know how to implement the FINISH HIM part, and the fatalities. I'll give it a shot, but no promises.

Are you going to rip the dragon fire effect from UMK3? Because... yeah. If you don't want to, I can probably do it. I seem to recall your Giga Bowser having a similar effect, oddly scaled making it all pixelly, is that the same one? It's just really low qual.

- Flying kick at the speed of a bullet
- Fireball is ass.  Fix plz
- Tripped state is him lying down?  Wtf
- Bicycle kick is awesome XD  I love it, no matter how broken it is.
- All jumping normals knock down.  Flying punches aren't supposed to
- Missing a shitload of animation
- No blood, but who cares (yet)
- All commands are using the wrong buttons, let alone inputs.  Could be forgiven if at least the buttons were correct.
- Needs good supers

Ending here.  Too much wrong to mention.  I'm definately keeping this version though, it's just too funny.  I love it

I'll keep working on Liu Kang tomorrow. At the moment I've been trying to create a Raiden sprite sheet in the same style. Not going very well.  --;

Also, about the fireball, it's getting changed. I just wanted to try making a custom shot, but obviously it hasn't turned out the way I'd hoped.

Oh, and what do you mean the buttons are wrong?

Shazzo I have a suggestion for you.
You can use a variable to determine whether blood sparks appear or not.  Anyone who wants blood can then change the variable in your code to make the sparks display.

If you don't want to that's fine too, you are entitled to some leeway here.  The primary focus should be working on the character itself, aesthetics can be addressed another time.

Too many games use the premise of blood to try to get over their bad graphics.
Your game isnt that good? Just crack open mspaint and use the red brush.

used sparingly it gives out the best effects. ( sf Zero blood spits when hit hard on the face)

As long as the blood fits with the overall style, it woudl be nice...

But, what made MK1? I say this: The announcer voice. The ultra-ominous music. Stage art. The "audience" applauding in that one stage. All this made MK1 have a very merciless feel to it.
