i want some wild team comps. like shingo teaming up with some kof ex guys. for kim isn't one of the jin brothers became his disciple? that'll be dope if they team up with kim and have their magic bullshit moves fused with taekwondo attacks.

Ahhhhh, I've seen that before. It was Chonshu *I think*. But I think that's non-canon in KOF since that happened in Fatal Fury.
I'd say his sons have a higher chance in joining (since Rock is also from the same game they're from) than Chonshu. Gang-il already has most of their moves already, they could reuse that.

Or.... Worst case scenario...

Gang-il comes back with Chang and Choi (2 in 1 like in CVS) lol XP

Maybe. They'll use Kim's old assets again from 14 and Shingo shares a lot of moves with Kyo so they'll have more resources to spare for new characters like "Jhun".
I wish Shingo comes back with Oswald, Shen Woo or Duo Lon while Kim brings back Jhun and May Lee (NOT Gang-il, Chang and Choi). But who knows.

Nah, I say Shingo and Kim will be in separate teams.

Reason 1, they only teased rough drafts of Shingo/Kim, meaning they haven't even finalized their 3d models yet.
Reason 2, they have 0 connection and have no agency in the storyline to be together (if DLC chars are canon as people told me).
Reason 3, SNK is literally reusing assets for Awakened Orochi team and SamSho team so they'll be making new assets for the next season.

You could choose Kyo-1, Kyo-2, KUSANAGI and Kyo together in previous titles so...

Ahhhh now I get more of what you're getting at.

But that still kind of leaves out one thing. You can't use sparkno to achieve what you really want, which is (to my understanding) using a custom hitspark with custom sctrls.
Sparkno only reflects animations, meaning, regardless of how you use that animation in another state, it's only going to use what's purely found in the AIR file. Sparkno's are not changestates. Whatever value/number you have on there is still going to look for an animation not a state.

Simply put, "sparkNo=-1 + 0 * (var(33) := 8020)" is going to be "sparkNo = x" eventually, (since I have no idea what var(33) has in its values) so the system is going to look for an animation in the AIR file with the "x" number assigned to it. If x equals 50, then it'll show animation 50's sprites and so on.

I'm quite astonished that you used the helper function prior to learning about the hardcoded hitdef sparkno first. 99 times out of a hundred, people start with the latter.

That being said, sparkno needs a specific number that directly correlates to the assigned animation in your air file. So, if you write 4500 in the sparkno value, the game will search for a 4500 animation in your air file to play (beware that this INCLUDES the fightfx air file). If you add an "s" in front of your value (i.e. s4500), then the character will search THAT specific character only, NOT the entire fightfx file.

Next, you'd also need to add a guardsparkno (speaks for itself), then a sparkxy which would tell how close/high the sfx will show once it's activated.

You need to try practicing with it. But all in all, as long as the moves aren't too complex, I'd stick with the hitdef/sparkno system than the helper one. This one is WAY more simple.

PS. the only down side to this is that you can't use any other controls such as angledraw, since sparkno ONLY takes into account the animation that is solely present in the air file. If you wish to change the size, angle or whatever without manually redrawing them, you might want to stick with the helpers.

You need to turn on debug mode and check all the designated states are being used.

Go to Mugen.cfg, find the Debug mode section and change the boolean value from 0 to 1 (if not already).
Once you turn the game on, you'll see small writings all over the game. That means the debug mode is on. Next, play the char and check the bottom left and see what "state" they're currently in. If the state is okay, but the char is not changing, that means there's smth wrong with the animation.

Whatever the case, checking the debug stats can drastically help you with your char making.

For starters, "All right" is two separate words. The non-separate version would be "alright", but it's used in different contexts ("I'm doing alright").

Just gonna weigh in because this confused me a bit. I've always found "all right" and "alright" to be pretty interchangeable, and for "alright" to more commonly be used simply because it's shorter.

Simple.

(A) The answers were all right
(B) The answers were alright.

(A) means that the answers were all correct while (B) suggests all the answers were satisfactory.

(C) All right, let's do this.
(D) Let's do this, alright?

(C) would be giving people the green light while (D) would be asking for their opinions.

They are confusing but if you get the hang of it, it gets easier.

That's not "defending" him. I specifically stated that I think he got what he deserved. The difference is, I think he's just an idiot and you think he's done smth horribly wrong. The hill that I'm dying on is not the same hill he's on.

It's just a difference in opinion. The thing is, unlike Joey's my opinion is not baseless.

I agree he was right to be reprimanded, but I just don't give him as much credit as ya'll do, thinking he's some evil mastermind or smth.

I meant "posting on the forum" as in he posted here to promote his character on the forum.

Also, him hating on a certain group doesn't mean he didn't know the consequences. I'm aware that he knew. He knew what he put in his codes were going to be met with controversy. But guess what, childish people are going to provoke regardless of what others say. They get a kick out of doing smth that's socially unjustified simply to look like a "rebel".

He was banned accordingly by Speedpreacher, he's receiving tons of backlash from the members. I think he'll get the point.
this is a hobbie space and he decided his time on it was better spent harassing people within his hobbie work, those are the consequences he wanted.
And like I said, the kid was dumb enough to make a stupid remark on a public forum with mostly adults around. It doesn't matter if the place was about a hobby, dumb immature kids are going to blurt out stupid shit from time to time. Only life experience is going to change that and make them learn.

and you make it seem like most 19 year olds are mature, but trust me, most of them are just legal teenagers. They only start maturing when they actually graduate from uni and get a job with a decent pay.

Look, I'm not justifying his behavior or his actions but what I am saying is that a 19 year old is not as socially aware as let's say a 39 year old or even a 29 year old. Just because 19 is considered to be a legal "adult" doesn't mean they necessarily act like one. If you need further proof, just look at most college kids in 2022.

What he did isn't anything illegal nor morally "wrong". It's his opinion. Bigoted? Yes. Hateful? Yes. Immature? Yes, but still an opinion nonetheless. Instead of expressing your personal disgust towards his remarks, I think it'll be better for us to tell him about the consequences of saying these things in today's society, cuz like I said:

Make a separate batch of palettes for the helper. If your "parent" uses group 1, then make the helper use 2 or smth.
Then, depending on what palette the parent is using, you can change the codes accordingly.

what irks me on a personal scale about this is the fact that he went out of his way to publicly insult a full game project that I'm a dev for. it's really upsetting considering we've been working on it for over 2 years (and is nearing completion), only to see someone make bigoted jabs towards it over trans people working on the game and said project having trans characters in the roster.

if you're going to mock our project in a transphobic manner, do it in your own space.

I doubt he takes this backlash seriously though. At his age, kids (yes, they're still "KIDS" in my book) laugh at the tackiest jokes and still call each other retards and Xaggots.
