Well, not if all of your characters are sharing the same common1 and common snd files; just like a full game setting.  You would only have to do it once.  But if you are talking about a bunch of characters coded by different people, you would have to edit them one by one.   Maybe someone knows an easier way to do it.  However, that's how I did it in my darkstalkers full game. I used a helper with variables to randomize the announcer.

But just to make sure, all the characters that I didn't make i can just add; "stcommon = common1.cns" to them and program myself a common state using a obscure state number? Instead of copy pasting the whole state into every characters individual state files? Cause that doesn't sound quite as tedious.

Sorry for asking too much I'm pretty basic in states so far, I'm learning as I go with my current project. Most I've done before this year is alter variables for balancing purposes.

You can't randomize the round announcer from the fight.def (to my knowledge).  You have to manually code a round announcer in your character files.

So I have to program an announcer and manually add it to every single characters programming one by one?
Is there a way I can make a secondary script file for the characters to speed that up?

This is tricky, the subject says what I'm trying to do pretty clearly, but again to reiterate;
I'm trying to add a randomly selected variable to fight.def's round sound effects and it's not working at all,
I'm not sure if there is way around this, basically what I've tried is writing a variable separate from the round variables, and then use that variable name in place of the group in the sounds, as to make the voice persistent, that didn't work, so I thought, okay I'll try this:
round1.snd = val(10):= 100,0 (Which I realize isn't a random variable but it was my test to see if I could write a variable inside the round1.snd call, and that also didn't work.

my question simply is: is there a way I can set and call a variable in fight.def

I really want my personal mugen game to be wowing to people I invite to play with me, and having many announcers would seem even cooler than just a mess of characters, especially since I've made many personal announcers to choose from. (I even have Chills from youtube going Round Number 1 and stuff)
Perhaps alternatively there is a way I can randomize the fight.snd file itself each match?

I think I fixed it, I just had to make sure the color was the exact same.

So I'm working on a character, I just had it stick its tongue out and fighter factory decided to use the pants color for the tongue, I thought I'd just be able to add the colors to the pallet, but that did the same thing, is there a way I can fix the pallet without re importing everything? I plan for the pallet to include even more colors and it would be helpful to know.

Hello! I am a sprite artist.

Currently working on a character for mugen, my old posts on here do not represent my current level at all, I'm currently working on a surprise for the community and I'm willing to share progress in private preferably over discord, I'm currently looking for a mentor/friend to give advice in character programming and the other more technical aspects and share opinions/criticize my work, currently I'm sprite swapping KFM and I'm hoping to be able to make something a little more special then just a sprite swap.

If anyone is interested in answering questions and giving advice shoot me a PM with your discord name.

I also might need assistance with in-betweens for some of my animations but I'm not expecting that from anyone, the character will look fine without any extra third party work just might be slightly better.

I wait anxiously for a response thank you in advance.
