Passing by to congratulate all of you for the wonderful release. :)

The teasers were inspiring, and the character obviously doesn't disapoint. He's not easy to "master" (I can't really say master at this point, having only tested all his moves since the last time I played a beta version), but it looks like he really has a lot of stuff going on to surprise the opponent and mess with him in some hilarious manner.

Not really ground breaking, but :
- Belmont sometimes changes palette between round 1 and round 2 (always coming back to his purple/red palette).
- In Watch mode, a debug flood may happen : "in state 190: can't map palette 1.1 to 1.16" (happens with 1.17 and 1.18 too, from what I saw).

Thanks for these very nice characters. Edward's wind system is a great idea, with great execution.

Some small feedback :
- During run, he can't attack, jump or anything. In the CMD file, you should add "triggerX = stateno="the run stateno" to all states where he can do something (almost all of them, actually).
- Fireball is lacking a "Width" sctrl, the move misses when performed close to P2.
- Burta (last attack) misses if Ginyu Storm is performed with P2 cornered.
- I don't think you should be able to chain into basics after a super move. For example, Dynamite Punch or Galaxy Dynamite can be chained into s.SK several times.

Congrats to everybody who made this Piccolo possible, he's a great character, and all you guys deserve huge respect.

As for the non-standardized effects, it's not "entirely" my fault (but I'm still sorry about it) ! When coding Goku Z2, Balthazar was still improving his spriting skills, and kept updating sprites, changing sprite count for animations, changing effects, replacing sounds over and over. So Goku Z2 worked well, but his code was all over the place, due to the constant coming back and forth, and he ended up being the 1st Z2 char, which obviously meant he'd be the "template" for future Z2 chars.

When Vegeta Z2 was being developed, he was built on top of Goku, and I was changing effects, then changing them back again to the old ones, etc. Long story short, the whole thing was cluttered, but I kept building over it (HDBZ being a fullgame wasn't a thing/plan at the time). A few years later, here you are sorting out my mess !

Thanks for this long awaited character. :)

Two little things :
- During Messatsu-Goshoryu, when Evil Ryu catches the opponent in the air before smashing him to the ground, the fullscreen effect in the BG (the speed lines) are cropped at the bottom. Maybe it was done on purpose, but it would look better IMO if they were aligned to take the whole screen rather than be aligned wrt the floor.
- He can crouch during run. Can't recall if all your chars behave this way, but heh, fighting games usually don't play like this.

Well, DBZ never made much sense with time travelling anyway, with the Cell/Cyborgs stuff, creating alternate timelines, etc. Zamasu remembering Goku doesn't shock me more than that at this point.

Anyway, Goku will get his ass kicked in episode 57 and 58, then will call for Zen-chan's help with his new toy in episode 59.

To go back into discussion, many people say "POTS style" when they see :
- CVS2 sprites (or similar),
- High-Res FX with HR portraits as used by POTS,
- The gameplay mechanics included by POTS (parry, roll, power charge, EX moves, zero counter, etc.)
- 6 button character with Capcom-like feeling.

The thing is that POTS went much further than this for his characters : he actually studied the different games where the character appeared, he included all of the moves the character ever performed into a single character (using various modes at times to do so), he extracted data (hittimes, hitpauses, damage, etc.) from the games, the combos from the games work, etc.

Most people don't realise this and just think that using one of his characters as template, they can get the same style. It's not the case if they don't study the games of origin first. If you're just guessing the way the moves should act, create new combos that never worked in any game, or put random values for damage, hitpauses, etc. there's no problem with that, but it's not POTS-style.

Vyn's and Infinite's characters share the same attributes listed at the beginning of the post, but they're in no way POTS-style, and wouldn't call it that.


Same goes for any other style, in fact. If you call a character CVS2 style but are just using the sprites, FX and movelist but are guessing all the rest, it's not CVS2 style. If you're mixing mechanics from KOF98UM, KOF2000 and KOF13 into a single character, you can't call it KOF94 style. KOF Remix style, or whatever, but not KOF94 style.

I saw it at a premiere. Fucking horrible movie.
- The scenario is inexistant, and has plot holes bigger than the Death Star.
- The pacing is bad, the action is subpar and the whole movie in 3D almost made my head dizzy.
- The supposedly funny moments actually aren't.
- They put random musics in there just because, and which serve no purpose.
- The Joker has no charisma. I usually enjoy Jared Leto, but here the Joker is just a punk gangster with tattoos coming straight from the 50s.

Margot Robbie, with her nice looks (that's an understatement) and decent acting help a little, but clearly can't save the movie.
The only good thing about this movie is that it lasted 1 hour less than Batman V Superman, which made the suffering shorter...

Grade : 3/10

They're not meant to be unlocked, they're unbalanced for a reason : to be bosses ! :S
Also, if you modify your HDBZ Ikemen version, you won't be able to play online with other players, unless they modify their game the exact same way too.

Reusing it as a Lv2 may be the option to give more consistency to the game, sort of like Goku's Lv1 kamehameha is just a Shinku Hadouken (for gameplay purpose), while Lv2 Kamehameha is the real deal. Same could be done for Buu.

Damn, Clermont-Ferrand is at 45 minutes from my place. Had I known there was a convention there, I would have gone just to meet the fans ! :(
