nice project, hope you adapt the paletes, to make a custom style, reduce sf3 to 6 colors and create paletes for everyone, and also, adjust the filter to give it a more acurate own style, till the moment seems so much as compilation

elena just in time for SF6 elena

She will be released really soon

Sakura tool done:
normal scale and 4X scale to show details (no hand edit over frames)
Legs and skin based on Mai, Maki, Yuri
Hair based on King
Skirt based on Athena intro
Gloves based on Yuri and Ryu
also, every part of body have a shader to mock other CVS chars
the color was limited to maximum 6 by part like original CVS game
alot of parts have 4 or 5 shades only

Vyn, i understand and agree with alot of your points, since i'm using shaders, 3d bases, for a while, btw, put it on same topic that pixel artists that have they work used as base for trainning this AI models, and without saying that is ai tool based, don't seems the better place. i used some 3d tools long ago. i think "MMD" back in 2020, to try some shortcuts for that style, but never made it a secret or try to hide it, also, the tool have potential, but sure can't make a 100% aproach nowadays

but just wanna say, this kind of stuff must have a separated topic.

a CVS based shader don't means that is exactly a CVS style thing, it have the proportions, the style of light/shadow, but have minor bugs and so much more colors, that you can reduce, but pay atention to the details that you can lost by removing much colors.
you will need to polish out every sprite, but it gives you 60~90% of the pixels, in the right place, plus anatomy, proportions and many other things. so, consider it like a tool, or a proto sprite sheed, you will also need to delete alot of frames, cause i rip alot of extra ones, to coders and spriters can polish on the way they want it.

I think it would be a good idea to cut some frames to keep it more in line with cvs

this is on the "coding" part,in this method we rip alot of unused frames

1/ Can you make video tutorial for the method?
2/ Have you thought about incorporating AI to make this work faster?

1- can, but don't want, btw blender/maya have a plenty comunity of tutos, that i used, so, all the things needed is already on internet
if you wanna reach similar results, just follow guilty gear xrd interview tips
2- yes, but still can't receive good results, perhaps in future.

i will develop a new method for Blender/Maya, based on CVS shading, that will can be used for CVS references and base for sprite sheets.


as female base i will release a free Juri, based on Chun-li, King, Mai

as male base i will releasea free sagat, based on Joe, Ryu, Raiden

why sf4? for Juri i preffer, and for Sagat, sf4 is on less polygons and keyframes, so, runs better and faster, the focus is on the shader, not the anims at this point.
why juri and sagat?   popular and show the things i need to develop, clothes and skin on juri, muscles and male lines on sagat
will release another ones after this? whit time, sure, but the goal is reach the tool till the maximum aproach
will be a perfec "sprite"? of course, NO!  this works as a tool for base sprites like a poser, or a start point to use anathomy and poses
anyway, reach a point that 60~75% of the pixels fit the style is preety possible with polish trough the updates

I know you said you wouldn't do any tutorials but I've been learning Blender for months. I've done things with gooengine, 3D animations... But I'd really love to know how you've done that and I can't find a way.

At least if you could say the tools you use, some advice... Because it looks great on you, incredible. It's what I would most like to be able to do.

main thing is that, there's nothing "new" on this method, is just old methods worked as hell, nothing diferent from any blender 2.8 or even older versions, also, this is on "workbench" shader, no eevee or cycles, so, any pc can run it.

Nice progress.
It's even more accurate and detailed now.
You should really make a tutorial about it. I think it would encourages many non spriters creators to make characters faster.

I hope Lucia can have this update as well !
Hope Lucia sprites will be ok to manage in term of colors, so she can be used for SF3 srpites AND CVS style!

My suggestion about shadding.
Adding some projection of shadding from clothes.
KOF is very good for that, but it actually exists in EVERY game.

Lucia is a freebie, idk if i will recreate her shader, since it tooks a bit of time
all the tutorials and tools that i use is free and anyone can download and try on internet, also, theres some people doing some experiments with this methods, so, i think that's no necessary to tutorials, also, the tool that i use is a custom scene that is closed source at now, so, the tools is free, and my setup is personal.

i would say return of the king but legally i don't have the title of king so i dont want to ruffle any feathers there.
this was a wip i've had since january and i stopped working on it around february to do development on my ikemen fullgame Battle Dudes, but now I decided to finish her up and i like the result.

Hi there!  I'm new to the scene and stumbled into this thread.  The spritework here is really cool! 
At 33 pages on this thread, though, I'm having trouble following what characters Masterkof has released and what is still being worked on.   Scrolling through the pages it is not imminently obvious.  Can someone provide some guidance?

this is still work in progress, nothing playable at now, at least no betas, just closed alphas


updating shader to new blender 4.1 version, that was alot of new possibilities, so, i wanna update it
