[1.0] Guilty Gear Style Screenpack Kinda Re-Start

So yeah I'm trying to make a GGXX style screen pack.  I figure since I can't have my scrolling side menu like in the actual thingy, I'll just settle for some animated portraits.

The stage images will go where the screen is, of course I'll be making the image font with all the GGXX stages added to it, however it will be strictly GGXX stages, if someone wants to add some other stages to it they'll have to add the images to the font themselves.   I'll make a space for the stage selection in words later.

For those that are wondering, there will be custom portraits.  I'm still deciding if I should add names to them or not, but yeah I'm still trying to decide on various of things like color corrections/fonts/etc.  Sadly with my monitor bugged the way it is somethings will take a while to get right.

Suggestions would be nice.  I will add shots of the VS and Victory screen a bit later.

Very Sharp looking so far. I love the idea you have with your stage select. It's nice to see actual stages rather than a basic word telling you whats up.

I think you should stick to the source material as much as possible, but factor in your own touches that mix in seamlessly. You already made a great example by having animated elements on your menu screen. Perhaps you can be creative with, say, screen transitions, or animating elements in the VS screen differently (ala MVC2). Another nifty idea could include animated scanlines/static overlays on certain art elements on the select screen, like on your select portraits on the bottom of the screen. Scrolling text is also a nifty idea. People like to see moving things.

Nice!

I remember that I wanted to make a GGXX styled roster with custom GGXX characters like Ky-chan, ROBO-JAM and ROBO-SOL.

This looks perfect for it although it seems to be missing slots for it. Nothing that a personal edit can't fix though.

Keep it up, it looks great.

the method of creating "stage select" image is the same as winmugen or is in a different way?  :ninja:
're not giving it to me right the traditional way.  :'(

The old put your stage images in a font file trick is what you mean by traditional right?  :P

do not get it right because my English is 0.
winmugen of the way I know to do, but when I put the 1.0 in the "Stage Select", nothing appears, but in other places such as name and menu images appear without errors.
ps: I still do FNT files.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you are trying to say, you mean the font doesn't show up or?

THIS!!! :sugoi:, In kof zillion (1.0) appears the images, but do not know how it was done in mugen.

I was bored so i did this.. if you use cool if you don't worry it's cool too, i had fun doing it anyways. ok, so...

I used one of your 640x480 screenshots to crop out the 178x128 Stage thumbnail
then timed it by 62 for all
I ended up with a 11,036x128 canvas then i added 62 pink slots divided by 61 green lines 1 pixel wide each.

I already know how to do that, in fact I was going to do something similar  :P

Epic win!!  ;D I love how you have your animations layered, especially with making your 9000,2 portraits slide around. That was one of my favorite elements of MvC2 and Super Smash Brothers Melee: Interesting and very eye catching (through mobility) visual treats. I know it's early in development, but speed up the transition between the "X" that leads into the portraits sliding in. That would tighten things up a bit better. Perhaps add in a Street Fighter IV style audial "BOOM" in between for added impact. In my humble opinion, SFIV has one of the best recnt Motif's in fighting games.

Well done so far. I'm looking forward to the final product!! :lugoi:

Well, I just recently got myself a new monitor, and I can now see blue.

I have been going through making a bunch of color changes:







Next time I post I'll probably have images of the victory and options screen.
