SO! Troy Baker replaced Mark Hamill as The Joker in Batman Arkham Origins + he's Joel in the Last of Us + main protagonist for Infamous Second Son and Bioshock Infinite AND I just found out he's also Ocelot in MGSV The Phantom PainSo, he's like the new Nolan North. But then again Steven Blum has a Guiness World Record :OITT discuss voice actors, your favorites, fun facts and so on.
Yeah I was going to mention Troy Baker myself as he voices a lot of characters I like, Kanji Tatsumi, Nova, and Jayce to name a few.
Also, Rob Paulsen is an OG. He voiced the original TMNT and kept active until now + Yakko from Animaniacs + Pinky from Pinky and the Brain + voiced Gray Fox in the GC MGS remake The Twin Snakes. That guy is aweeeesome.
You're forgetting Snow in the FFXIII trilogy, Dick Grayson Nightwing AND Sinestro in Injustice, Jake in Resident Evil 6, Two-Face and Robin in Arkham City, Sol in Guilty Gear 2, Vincent in Catherine, et cetera. Quite a few "additional voices" credits across the board. Main character roles go to him probably because he's crazy versatile. Nolan North and Steven Blum are almost instantly recognizable. Their vocal range isn't as insane. They're fantastic, yes, but they're almost as one-voice-y as Scott McNeil or Cam Clarke. Those two are also in a lot (or at least, they were.... not as heavy these days) and are typically great.Meanwhile, Jamieson Price has moved from "who?" status to somewhere in my top five favorites. Algol in Soulcalibur IV and V, the announcer for Super Street Fighter IV, Noob Saibot/original Sub/announcer for MK, the dwarf in Dragon's Crown, Heihachi in SFxT, Nier, Barry in RE: Mercenaries, Tager in Blazblue, Raven in Guilty Gear 2, the current Lu Bu in the Warriors games, and assorted smaller roles in a ton of other games... He's got that Steven Blum thing going on where every role uses pretty much the same voice, but that's fine by me. He's typically big badasses, and that's okay. Kinda reminds me of Beau Billingslea. Not a bad thing....now that I've mentioned it twice, Guilty Gear 2 had a superb cast. Troy Baker, Liam O'Brien, Jamieson Price, Brian McConnohie, Wendee Lee, and Yuri Lowenthal in one game? Win. If they dub Xrd for it's English debut and keep it consistent, then there's another protagonist role for Baker's rapidly growing list.
so i might be the only one pleasantly surprised to see bin shimada and masaharu sato floating around in jojo all star battle

Spoiler: I like Karen Strassman (click to see content)Her, Tasia Valenza, Hellena Taylor, not really prolific VAs, but all should get more work.As for others, I'm okay with Baker, Freeman, O'Brien, Douglas, Price too, and I'd throw Brandon Keener on there too. Hale's got good pipes too, as well as Ruff, Bailey when she's playing a bitch, and while Ali Hillis is a little one-voice I like her as well, same with Debi Mae West. Honestly I probably follow more Japanese VAs though.

I've never been attached to VAs... I admire their work and all (and they bring out the character more often than not), but none really stick to me.The only time I ever felt a VA was inseparable from a character was Konata (Aya Hirano), who's voice was done by someone else in the Drama CD (it was a bit awkward).Oh and nearly anything done by Wakamoto. And The Joker (Heath Ledger)... that's it.drewski90 said, January 22, 2014, 05:50:54 amshould we discuss the dialogue in video gaming and anime as well, if not, then that's okDoesn't really matter.
thanks, i will discuss about sonic lost world once i'm done with it, anyway, i know alot about each anime voice actor, has anyone seen love hina yet?
Xhominid said, January 22, 2014, 05:43:35 am...I swear I heard Stephanie Sheh was Milenna in MK9...That's who a lot of people thought it was early on, but Strassman did both her and Kitana. She also voices Poison in SFxT and USF4, Helena in the DOA games and Aigis in P4Arena.
Hmmm.. lemme see. Think my favorite VA's at the moment are:- Kimlinh Tran (Ms. Fortune in Skullgirls, as well as a bunch of indie projects)- A.J. Locascio (Marty in the Back to the Future games, his Marty voice is spot-on.- Christopher Lloyd (I know he's an established actor, but when he VA's, he really gets into it).- Melissa Hutchison (buncha Telltale games characters, but most famously Clementine from The Walking Dead)- Steve Blum (Spike Spiegle's english dub VA. I actually prefer him to the original VA. Oh yeah he was also TOM in Toonami).- Lex Lang (too many to count, but Sanosuke Sagara dub voice is one of his bigger roles).
welp might as well list my favorites tooi don't have any favorite english voice actors aside from like logan cunningham lol- banjo ginga (every single jack in tekken, cracker jack, j (sakigake otokojuku), souther)- bin shimada (yoshihiro kira, juda, hyena, barrier freeman, kurow kirishima)- chiharu tezuka (akira kazama, jun kubota)- chizu yonemoto (hermes costello, baiken)- daisuke gouri (harry ness, gaia from toshinden, heihachi mishima (from 3 onward up to 6), gamof, gantetsu, bilstein, edajima heihachi. absolutely tremendous voice actor and will be sorely missed)- hisao egawa (capcom mohammed abdul, balga, jaoh, dogma, ASB purple haze, cheng-fu)- joji nakata (umvc3 wesker)- kaneto shiozawa (zato-1, hyo imawano, ryan, tekkamen and yamato all from dragoon might, orochimaru from kabuki klash, duke rambert, kairi, vega in SFEX and so many more. also still incredibly upset he is no longer with us)- masaharu sato (besides a slew of thugs from hokuto no ken, tau from toshinden, senator wilson phillips)- osamu hosoi (exclusively for his garuda)- tomohiro tsuboi (was mostly responsible for dubbing the majority of the way of the warrior cast to seem way more respectable, has a very impressive range)- toshiyuki morikawa (ASB diavolo, tekken 3 hwoarang)- unshou ishizuka (exclusively for his ASB devo, seriously it has to be heard to believed)- wataru takagi (doctrine dark, adon, shaker, zangief, okuyasu nijimura, if i seriously put down his entire resume we'd be here all day)- yusaku yara (ryuji torumaru, dulton, sheng-long from gowcaizer, gillian seed)probably more coming later
Robert Carlyle's Dracula (Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2) is one of my favorite things ever in video gaming.Tales of Vesperia also got a remarkably solid set of English VAs, but I'm not familiar enough with it to name them.EDIT: Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy go without saying (but I'm saying them anyway), along with most other Arkham VAs. I prefer the new Harley to the old.
Lists? Ok.English VAs- Keith David- Kevin Conroy- Laura Bailey- Tara Strong- Patrick Warburton- John Dimaggio- Cam Clarke- Jamieson Fucking PriceJapanese VAs- Megumi Toyoguchi- Jurota Kusogi- Tesshou Genda- Show Hayami- Norio Wakamoto- Akio OtsukaNo points in guessing what kind of voice I like.
Can't think of a list. I just know of Jim Cummings which isn't mentioned here yet. He is one of my legendary favorites.
Capt. Segway said, January 23, 2014, 03:08:28 am- Kevin ConroyI wonder what he's doing these days, since his most prominent role was taken away I mean, it's kinda the same as MY HERO David "Solid Snake" Hayter, but at least I know he's into making GOOD movie scripts, screenplays and so on, so I'm not that worried about him, I know he'll make it
