I've rarely, if ever, saw superman kick. He punches everything. Not saying he couldn't, but outside of knee strikes, it doesn't fit his style

Yeah his original outfit is definitely the most recognizable, but I think the new one looks pretty cool when the character designs are good like Dan Jurgens' or Jim Lee.

I also wanted to ask about the S on his chest. When he turns from left to right will it switch correctly?

Unfortunately no, that would require a great deal of editing just to fix a problem that 99% of 2-D fighting game fans accept as a limitation of the format. I'm aware it can be done, I just don't think it's really worth it.

On the punching/kicking thing, a friend of mine also agreed that Superman never really kicks people, so I may just give him all punch attacks. He has enough animations and I am capable of making a new one or two if needed, so we'll see how it goes.

The only issue with all punch attacks is that usually kicks are moves that hit low or have a lot of diagonal range.  Characters with punches can still do that (see Balrog) it just depends on the animation.

What will his "special" button do? Is it just powers? Maybe if he has kicks because he's superman instead of just standard kicks make them launchers/knockdowns but not something with a large combo potential at least. Maybe more like stomps/super kicks if he has any in his animations, that open up his combo potential.

Just noticed Superman will be in CvtW, alas, too bad it's not the Earth's End version. :(

Good GOD Superman at Earth's end was hilariously bad. XD

Alright, so I made it so that he only uses kicks for his LK attacks. Everything else is punches, and they vary enough to not be redundant.

So How come youy decided to replace Asuka and Paul with him Sean. I like thay you added him but I was wondering if you are gonna add them as DLC

Because I really wanted a famous DC rep for the game, and Paul/Asuka were not complete sprite sets. If CVSNB finishes either of them they will be added in at a later date.

By the way, in case any one is wondering, I am still working on Skullomania. I just needed a break from spriting for a little bit and really wanted to make this Superman.

What will his "special" button do? Is it just powers? Maybe if he has kicks because he's superman instead of just standard kicks make them launchers/knockdowns but not something with a large combo potential at least. Maybe more like stomps/super kicks if he has any in his animations, that open up his combo potential.

Not sure yet, though I'm leaning towards flight activation. If anyone has any suggestions that aren't too complicated, feel free to share them.

Within reason, I hope you make him look alot less like Magneto in the body.

If you do give him a flight command, why not just use the MVC command which is qcb+2K? Hmm for his special button, I still think it should be more of a launcher button, but otherwise I'd say map most of his special physical attacks to standard special commands (or at least some) and use the special button to map his heat/ice/super breath. That or maybe even powers you hadn't added, like temporary super armor (kinda like glowing Jin Saotome, and super speed done kinda like the custom combo v-ism thing from alpha 3)

Even a counter move might be a possible choice like here.

Also in an unrelated thing, if you ever do want to make batman and the cape sprites are the issue, why not simply go with batman beyond sprites?

Because I like Batman Beyond but he's not Batman, know what I mean? At this point, if I EVER make Batman, I'll just sprite him myself.

Within reason, I hope you make him look alot less like Magneto in the body.

I'm not going to be editing him that much, I'm sorry. The point was that the sprites were there already. Magneto isn't in this game, so the resemblance shouldn't be a big issue.

He is scaled to CVS-size if that helps at all, and I'm trying to avoid the more Magneto-y animations.

Here's a quick example of some of the editing and refinements I'm doing to the animations.

Still not perfect, but better, right?
