Yeah, it seems to occur over night.

anyways, I did a reboot yesterday and that did /not/ fix it! so, I'm positive it's not my fault. wrote a mail about it to my hoster

Keep after them.  Seriously.  Of course they will deny it's a problem on their end because people who answer tickets (if you have a ticket system) usually just check the URL.  "Well the site seems to be up and running, so all is fine."    I know nothing about techy stuff (thats why I have minions!),  but I do know how tech support works.  Keep pestering ...  in a polite way of course.  It seems too consistant and came on too suddenly.  Something is going on.

I get 503 errors mostly during the night when I get home. And when I don't get the error the forum is very slow.

I can confirm this. Around 11(ish) p.m. EST it starts getting bad.
