Well... I guess I´m a prime example of someone that was a noob the first day I picked TTT2, got crushed plenty of times, stepped it up and learned characters properly and now, if I have a good day, I can be a problem to many high ranked players with my Ogres. Hours of training were needed (not 3 or 4 hours a day!!) thought.

I find TTT2 to be fun but not that messy or random. Getting launched is part of the game in very clutchy occassions, but oh well. Keep crying please.

Also check knee's win ratio in his videos. You'll see it on his playercard. His ratio is scraping 50% which is pretty bad for someone of his standard. Thats when you know something is wrong. But despite all of the bad points TTT2 is probably the most fun in the series to play.

Last time I checked Knee´s win ration (in TTT2U, which is the version they play most of the time) is over 65%. You are thinking of Hao or Only Practice.

If you don't want to play at high level, just play with your friends.  Don't shit on people who love the game enough to bother to learn it.

Of course someone will take it the wrong way.

If they want to play it in a competitive way, that's fine by them. I have no problem with those that want to play it competitively, I mainly have issues with the overall system far more than any competitive spirit, though it is still quite tedious to see or hear.

I personally believe that if your fighter has 100% combos that are pretty practical to do to the point that it's the norm and you're expected to pull them off so that different health values mean shit, then you got a shitty broken game.

Nope I am pretty certain I have seen videos where knees ratio is scraping 50% to mid 50%. Also I would love to play you if you are free and see how much you like my 105 damage combos lol and barrage of 14 frame uppercuts.

Is anyone free to play in the next 2 hours or so for some friendlies?

If you don't want to play at high level, just play with your friends.  Don't shit on people who love the game enough to bother to learn it.
We're talking about high level people locking out lower level people with strategies that don't give any opportunity to learn, and you're accusing the low level people of shitting on the high level people ? Aren't you getting this backward ??
And it's about the mechanics, not about the people. No one's shitting on those who love it enough to learn it. We're talking about the mechanics that separate the two groups.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

If anyone would like to add me, I have the 360 version of Tag 2. I can easily battle anytime between 10:30 to 11:30PM Friday through Monday. Tuesday through Thursday is open game if you give me enough advance notice. ;D
All of your Mugen Portrait needs may be found HERE.

I'd like to report two robots on the MFG forums: One is EXShadow. The other is Saikoro.
There should be a Saikoro plugin for Photoshop.

mc2 once told me that me and my friends didnt have any business to be playing fighting games because they were casual, I dont think you are looking for a reasonable argument on the right place.

Sometimes reading those arguments its almost as if the most reclusive and unattaible a game is the better its supposed to be. If you could pinpoint a game where you had to use three buttons at once everytime you had to make a move and all moves were 360 * 3 motions and then there was a waffle motion somewhere in the middle and you could only throw in certain areas of the stage and your hits would only land if you hopped twice before each move or something like that, that would be the game they would love, no initiates ever, we had to climb over that hill with no shoes on and we dont want no new people coming in. Its like calvin ball but with fighting games.

Btw..did anyone here say "Hey guys, I'm better at X fighting game for Y reason. Suck my dick." ?
I wasn't saying that anyone was right now, I'm just saying that it bloody happens when it comes to you "Professionals" and showing off your virtual swagchievements for constantly slapping "Scrubs" around.
Otherwise, your cocky attitude also screams that, stop it.

I just hate it when people take competitive play too seriously, do you even win something for getting the Highest MLG rank on Fighting games? Maybe a Virtual Trophy.

If you don't want to play at high level, just play with your friends.  Don't shit on people who love the game enough to bother to learn it.
Honestly, this is the only reason why I play Street Fighter 4 AE with MightyKombat and MooMaster, otherwise it's quite hard to find someone on Live/PSN that doesn't scream "SCRUB" or "GIVE UP NOOB" if you lose vs them, I remember a guy calling me a "Black Bastard" for using Dudley and beating their Ken.

Heck, I could go on. I had a few Ragna users back in the day when I'd play Blazblue always call me a Scrub for using Makoto and I was pretty darn well good with her.

Also most of these posts are going to the Shit thread, right?

I played against MFG members before (3) and 2 of them were pretty good...Iced really needs to learn this and that but we played Tekken 6 with a terrible lag

Why would everyone here play like a "casual" gamer in Tekken when we are on a fighting game related board? I don't expect tournament goers to play against, i myself never went to a tournament too since Tekken 3 (here in Germany its all about games like Counterstrike etc anyway) but good players who are at least able to get 50-70% ratios together online after some hundred matches should be found here.

There was no buts about it, you were really good and your kuma was really strong. =P
Im too casual to offer you a challenge but I was amused that instead of going for the combo and juggles you did switch and baits and mixed up attacks, its far more interesting imo to have a match like that.

Keep dreaming AKA I don´t see a reason why. I mean, this isn´t exactly a shitfest but a discussion regarding game mechanics, how broken they are, noobs, casuals and their differences and yadah yadah yadah :P Goddamnit I´m confused now.

But the general win ratio, or a character ratio?? I´ll love to play you too, maybe not today but if you can in this week?? Then we´re good.

Goddamnit, I´m getting tired of the "please merge it with the shit thread" when the discussion isn´t shitty. Damn it, Damn it, DAMN IT!

This wasn´t even close to the "Feminist study of games" stuff.

Its why I kinda feel bothered playing people here. i hope i surely never acted like I knew how to play like an above average, but I do try to learn. I'd love to play people here, but not bore them or worse, continue to drop combos. Gotta find some balance, lol.

I didn't really pay much attention to that. All I remember seeing is a shockingly bad win ratio for someone of knee's standards. Yeah I'll be around in the week for some friendly sessions.

But if anyone is here tonight that doesn't mind a few friendly games then let me know.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
I never plan on dissing people who got the way they are by practicing and good work, that is them and good for them for doing so.
What I am dissing on about is always the system of ToD combos or even 80-90% combos that are way too damn easy to learn or a comeback mechanic that can make you do that much damage without even needing to deviate from a simple combo.

T6 didn't have them as bad, but the bound system did sadly open up the possibilities of 80-90% combos and don't say it didn't, because I've seen quite a few T6 matches head that way pretty quickly.
But it was TTT2 that pretty much killed any reason for me to buy it because of how braindead easy it was to do those combos. Even with Tag Crash and having another person, the damage from Tag combos, Bound and Wall damage can easily make a 90% - ToD combo extremely possible without much difficulty at all.

This is pretty much why I stay around with Blazblue, SFIV and DOA5. There may be a ToD combo in those games, but it's definitely not easy to do them nor is possible to really do above 70% without REALLY knowing your toon and making sacrifices to get that high.

some fighting game players are very protective of their games, so implying that their mechanics are shit is enough to make them angry. just tell me what is your favorite fighing game, the one you play all the weekends/day, yeah, that one is broken shit.

don't most modern fighting game have ways so that you can set up 50%+ damage combos, I am not sure what the big deal with tekken is, maybe it's because you don't need to stock up on powerbars to do them ?

sagat.

anwyay that was no the point all, lol.

a byakko implied the poin is about modern fighting games have elements that are as "game breaking" as tekken's bound system, more specifically 50% combos.
