As for the win quotes, it will be the dog dancing to all dog songs.

oh and Mr. Ton? those zapper pics are great but they add colorloss...i wish i could find one more pixelated. and i like the translucent idea for the edges.

If you want to make the zapper pics look pixelated you could just shrink them down really small, then enlarge them again with the anti-aliasing turned off.  That would lessen the amount of colors too.

For the translucent gradient tho, I meant for the screen on the phone.  Make a rectangular sprite that just fits the screen, and have it be a gradient from white to black, from the upper left corner to the lower right.  Then add some alpha, drop it in over the screen part of the phone, and voila, you have 'glare'.  Just so the screen doesn't look so much like see through hole in the phone.

What about for the alternate taunt, having the phone snap a pic of the dog, but then also having it as a move that works like this:  When it comes up, have it hover for just a second over the opponent before snapping a pic, and if they're not blocking when it does, have it put them in a dizzy state for a quick second or so.  Sort of like they're confused or distracted by having their pic taken, giving the dog a free hit.

Cool to see you added the clay discs too.  You should totally give them that sound from the game too, if it's not in there already.  In game it's like a sin wave slowly increasing in pitch. 

Good lookin all around, can't fucking wait for this!

Just of curiosity, have you looked at the sprite work done on the flash movie 'Super Duck Hunt"? You could get some ideas on poses or what not. Or maybe get permission from the sprite artist/creator of the flash movie for the sprites? There is a sprite sheet of Super Duck Hunt with a lot of the dog's poses.

One thing I noticed, The dog's hind legs during the 8-bit upright standing + laughing pose is different for all authors, including Nintendo's. The one I seen during the DH Dog's final smash, where he goes 8bit into the background for a bit. I could show you comparison for what I'm talking about here.
Also, there is the Arcade version of Duck Hunt, which he as some additional sprites as well, if you think any of those would come in handy. :)

Is the standing pose going to be like the one in Smash 4, or more original?

Would love to see some win pose.

IMO use more duck colour variations (not the blue/pink alpha duck  :laugh3:) on the "Duck Stampede"  hyper, hell even use much more quacking sounds for the hyper.  ;D

i love u Staubhold.... i like this. since i got 5 win quotes already...i gotta figure out wat i can use this for....any suggestions?

Just use more win animations (maybe some diff. dances frm Duck Hunt Dog?)...

The NES zapper doesn't look particularly difficult to make a sprite, right?  Maybe I'll take a stab at it for you... no guarantees on the result b/c I don't think I'm really that great of a spriter just yet!

I haven't seen this exact expression used before... and maybe it could come in handy for my project... are you saying if you add that to the end of the "anim" parameter, it will add either 1, 2, or 3 to the value at random?

Super duck hunt is where im getting it from. if u saw the first post...ull see i posted the video....also, i got the OK from Shane Toner, who is the creator of the movie and the custom sprites.

And im also changing the stand animation, "FLY AWAY" HYPER will have three random sets of ducks (green,Red, Bootleg) that will vary in damage, Hogan alley's target traps will be randomize as well, "RANDOM TOSS" super (soda can, Gumshoe & Smash Targets) and the laughing pose will be different.

alot is being updated guys....my vids are not the final product!

Mugen bootleg creator, Duckss, makes a guest appearance!!!! It shows up randomly in FLY AWAY hyper. and since its bootleg...it does guard damage as attack damage....so u better not block this one!
