He was born in the village of Hagakure. Kage-Maru is the name given to members of the Hagakure clan who work in secret in the shadows of society.
His birthright was to become the tenth-generation Kage-Maru. His father, the ninth-generation Kage-Maru, taught him the fearsome Hagakure fighting technique.

One day, his mother, the eighth-generation Tsukikage, was kidnapped by a mysterious figure. Nothing was heard of her fate.

Several years later, the village of Hagakure was attacked by an unknown force. Kage-Maru and his father were out fishing, but quickly returned when they saw the blazing village. They were too late, however, and the village was destroyed. Kage-Maru's father was felled by a bullet from the mystery group.

The next morning, Kage-Maru salvaged a keepsake from his father, donned his costume, and embarked on a journey to prepare himself to take vengeance on those who spilled his father's blood.

awesome my friend, its so cool you are trying to convert him into mugen, dont feel discouraged im sure youll learn how to do it well, its part of the process on learning isnt it? the fact that you are actually trying, i wish you all the success on this

First Virtua Fighter char in Mugen, from this aweful Genesis game. :)
That's cool. Are you going to try and make him closer to his Saturn counterpart in terms of gameplay ?

Yeah, some aspects. For example, the Genesis version of the game has very floaty jump mechanics which feel very weird. Saturn doesn't have that and it makes the gameplay more natural.

The Genesis version does have some upsides to it, and that the fact that the gameplay moves at a faster pace than the Saturn. Not only that, the game uses sprites so whats not to love?

First draft from ripping Kage's stage. As you can tell, the stage looks very... uneven. :( Plan on going back and ripping the background piece by piece to make a perfect replica.

There are some VF stages, but some of them are offline. I still have Kage's stage from VF1.
BTW good luck on Kage, that last one was a incomplete.

Virtua Fighter? In MUGEN? I likey.  If Kage turns out as well as you hope for, is there a chance you'll try to convert some of the other characters? *hopes for Jacky and/or Sarah*  I'll be following this project, for sure. :)

Also, not advertising or anything, but I have converted some VF stages (mostly from their Fighters Megamix counterparts) in case you want to check them out.

Yeah, I plan on converting other VF2 characters for MUGEN. Starting off with Kage first since his sprites are so easy to rip.

As for the stages, I want to make a nice 2 for 1 deal where you download Kage and get his stage as well. I'll be sure to check out your stages and see what ya got. :)

Sprites aren't animated this time around due to the weird jumpiness in previous posts (will fix them later.) All thats needed now is backwards crouch walk, forward dash, and back dash and I'll have all the basic movements. :)

Very very cool. Have you been able to rip from saturn? I understand for 2D based games the satourne emulator can disable layers...

Really? Right now, Im using gensKMOD to rip sprites from VF2. I will however look into it.

Awww, sweet. Im really digging that Joe Musashi palette!

Also, expect some progress later on tomorrow night. I will ty and have at least four five attacks/combos ripped and implemented into a beta.

Wow, its been a while. Thanks to the new Mortal Kombat coming out, I've been neglecting my duties with this WIP.

Anyways... I got some free time and decided to rip a few sprites. So far, I have ripped the following attacks:
Danken                    P
Juzuridan                 Down P
Tsukikaeshi Keri       K
Surigeri                    Down K
Sandangeki              PPP
Sandan Urageri        PPPK


Also, as an added bonus along with Kage's stage, I've decided to throw in some Lifebars along with the character.

Yeah, I've been ripping all night. Although I haven't ripped and cleaned all the sprites, I did rip a good amount of them. All thats left is the numbers, READY, GO!, and Set 2 and 3.
