Since people like my knuckles edit, and having just knuckles with no sonic in your roster is really weird. i thought i should make a edit for mugenhunters sonic the hedgehog.

just like knuckles, he is completely changed. he shares the same gameplay style as knuckles so im not fixing what isn't broken.

he also has a couple of new moves that were not in mugenhunters original: the Spindash, Homing attack and 2 new supers. the spindash works just like in the classic sonic games so you should get a bit of nostalgia there.

i didn't really like the default soundpack mugenhunter used. so instead i used KySquirtleFanzer/RikuMasta132's soundpack. i also used his small portrait. so special thanks to him.

nothing else to really say apart from have fun and make sure to give feedback when you think somethings wrong.

Changelog:

-Winmugen users will now need to use Win_Sonic.def otherwise mugen will crash
-Renamed Lighting Shield to Split-Second
-You can now combo the light version of roll attack into Split-Second
-The sonic jingle win pose now only happens after you win a match
-Removed death echo
-Fixed going backwards after the final hit of Sonic Rushdown
-Fixed priority's on some attacks, they were quite messed up
-Fixed some other bugs
-after hitting with the ring toss, you now actuality home onto the foe
-MAX version of super sonic run now hits multiple times
-Added AI
-Added hitspark, hitsound, and a hit animation to BackFlip Wave
-Added the option to turn off backflip wave
-Added some new palettes by me and some by RikuMasta132
-Reordered the palettes

This is how you recognize a character is polished or not : when small details are taken care of to provide the best experience possible.

yeah, i was planning to add a intro vs knuckles at some point, but im quite lacking in resources.

and you don't really need to worry about his small portrait because he already has a pretty good one, though you can still create one if you want. the more the merrier, i suppose.

Loving these updated characters.  DLing this one right now.  Out of curiosity, how many were you planning to do?

im not sure. i didn't really plan to do a set amount of characters, i kinda just did the ones i wanted to do, which so far is sonic and knuckles. i might do tails at some point so we have all three. but i will take a break for a bit since i think i spent enough time on sonic and knuckles already.

I was hoping for the special intro between sonic and knuckles be that one scene from a sonic x episode called cracking knuckles, it's kinda long though, but it will have to do exactly for now

Very well done. :) I don't really have any bugs to report, aside from one. Kind of...

-When Sonic does his rushdown super, during the last slide portion, Sonic goes backwards a bit, then starts sliding forward. This feels and looks strange. It should just be a flowing slide, with the foe flipping over him.

The rest of these are suggestions/miscellaneous....

-Sonic having a projectile doesn't suit him. However, the ring toss one sorta makes since and is a good move. The Backflip Wave however feels superflous. Also, there's no hit anim for it really, is just disappears. He really could do without it imo.

-Just to add some extra combo-ability to Sonic, perhaps you could make the light version of Roll Attack link into his anti air spin dash special on movecontact. It feels like it'd be a nice link up.

-For the MAX version of Super Sonic Run, perhaps you could add a bit more to it? Like Sonic dashes back and forth about 3-5 times, with the final hit resulting in the flipping knockdown.

-His anti air move is actually the "Split-Second" shield skill he had in Sonic 3/Sonic & Kunckles. Not the lightning shield. It gave him a split second of invulnerability when pressing the jump button again after jumping. When timed right, you could defeat spiked enemies with it, along with shielding yourself from attacks. Not suggesting you make it like that, just letting you know it's not the lightning shield. :P

Great job man. It's so awesome to have Sonic. Has anyone ripped Sonic's voices from Smash Bros. Brawl? It'd be nice to have that voice for him. I'll check around and/or request for them. Probably make my own custom voicepack for him.

he did have it in sonic battle though, and i was going to add some hitsparks and a hit sound. but i got sorta lazy with that. :wall:

about it being superflous. it does act differently than the ring toss making them both have different purposes. im not going to remove it since i like it TBH. i could however add a option to remove it.

what do you mean by dashing back and forth? do you mean go though the foe. hit them a few times then dash though them again?

ah. thanks for correcting me on that. i wasn't quite sure what it was at first since mugenhunter just called it "Spin blade attack"

Nah, it's cool. You're right, it does behave differently from Ring Toss and I've never played Sonic Battle. If it did appear in a actual game, then I guess it does suit him lol.

I mean run through them, hitting them once each time, with them left in hit stun. Though, since he'll be moving so fast, the increased hit stun will just be to garuntee each dash hits. Dash through, turn around, repeat. Up to 2-4 hits not knocking the foe down, with the final dash sending them flipping into the air.

No problem about the extra info and stuff.

I 2nd the notion to remove his projectile. 
I've never played Sonic Battle before but the move does seem pretty out of character IMO.

Veanko, these Sonic edits are awesome, you're awesome! ;D We finally have a great Sonic for Mugen (and Knuckles to boot!). I look forward to a Tails edit, if you ever decide to do one that is.

Also, regarding the projectile, I'd make it so people can choose to have it available or not.

his projectile can't really be out of character because he did have it in a official sonic game, inless sega that night were drunk or something and just decided to randomly give him a projectile for no reason.

also, the ring toss and backflip wave do act very differently. the ring toss is more of a trap move and less of a projectile since it stays in place for a while if it doesn't hit anything while backflip wave is purely a projectile. you could say sagat having a low and high tiger shot is unnecessary, since they act pretty much the same. though they are used for different things. however i will add a option to disable it so its a win-win.

This is subject to debate. Yeah, it may have been in a offical game, but a good amount of Sonic's official games as of late... It is likely they were drunk/high/or something when developing it... Not bashing Sonic in the least. I love Sonic, first game I ever had was Sonic 2. That's why it's sad to see him fall from grace... Anyway, that's another matter altogether.

It does have different properties, but you can't make the comparison between Sagat and Sonic in that regard. :P Sagat is a char based on projectile spamming/great anti-air defense. Sonic is speedy and melee orientated. I haven't played any other games that feature Sonic as a fighter aside from Smash Bros. Brawl. I feel they nailed it dead on with how Sonic should fight, incorporating his speed and techniques. That wave ability in Sonic Battle was probably overall just filler. Giving him a projectile just because in all honesty, rather than it actually suiting him. Also, Sagat's high and low Tiger Shots are not superfluous at all btw. His high shot will obviously sail over crouching/smaller foes. It's fine to keep the wave, but it definitely needs a hitspark, hitsound, and a hit animation.

i never actuality said that tiger shot high and low was superfluous, i was just trying to backup my argument by making a comparison to sagat. i haven't really played many of the modern sonic games with the exception of sonic unleashed(lol werehog) and sonic 2006(im not even going into that) but from what i have seen it does look like sega might have had one too many. however i quite like the wave attack TBH as it does give him more options. even with 2 projectile's i still think he plays like a melee orientated character(well, he should anyway. i might not have got his playstyle down perfectly)who can zone his foe quite well. which is what i wanted him to play like.

like i said before i will add a option to disable it so everybody wins. and i will add a hitspark, hitsound, and a hit animation to it so it looks better.
