so yeah, you might have known super fighter for the MS-DOS, a little-known taiwanese game that apparently got the license for it bought by a company called, well, 'the super fighter team'

after 20 years the new team took to themselves to finally update it. so why's this in the mugen releases section?

cuz they used mugen. i think this the first time copyright holders actually used mugen to make a fullgame with it






as off-guard as that took me and as amusing as it was to find this out, it's not bad at all, really. this isn't some half-assed circle of the cast that's like the coders didn't study the source material or anything, they're all very close to their original counterparts (plus some supers). boss characters are also available right out of the gate

This looks immensely interesting, especially considering the backstory you typed up. Is this moleboxed?? Or even worth it?? I currently don't have a way to download it since I'm at work, so I'm curious to see if anyone else did...

it comes as a self-installing application but the end result isn't moleboxed at all

strangely everyone comes with only one palette though

edit: oh yeah and run the .exe as an application too otherwise it won't work

yo holy shit lol i used to play this on dosbox and it was like beyond bad but damn, they decided to use mugen for the update? this is hype

So besides my virus software being a dick and claiming false positives I also keep getting a "It's not compatible with windows" message every time I try to access it.

Anybody else got this problem or just me as usual?

yeah the exe file is not a virus , and like was said its not moleboxed at all...................

BUT

in order for u to use them in mugen
Right click the game and then click File Folder location, that opens up the regualr mugen folder, then simply open the data folder and copy the file called

superfighter.st

into every characters Folder and Boom they work fine in mugen ......

I remember when the offered a deal at MI to pay a guy who converts their game to mugen some years ago. Seams that they found someone or did it themselfes.

It's nice to see that you guys reached out and worked with our community(Thank you Robert Holmes *wink wink*) to produce something like this. Really cool, and definitely fun from the brief time I had with it this morning(probably gonna main Frank because he looks like someone from 3 Count Bout haha)

Idk if the creators would mind but I made an Ikemen version of the game. I really liked the game and thought it would be pretty awesome if I could play with people. Here's a video of me and a friend playing.

I remember you from the old days of the SFibm and SFR message boards (used to post there under the name "Maximoff").  Excellent job with the game.  You are a better man than I.
